Description

Immersed in the Reggiano countryside, the structure is located inside an ancient typical Reggiano farmhouse, partially protected by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, which we have finely renovated and restored, bringing it back to its original characteristics, while integrating the best comforts for our guests.

The furniture is mainly in "arte povera" wood, simple, essential, and characteristic, reminiscent of a true Historical Residence (a definition that Antico Casale Caroli can proudly claim, given the specific characteristics of the structure).

The part of the property reserved for guests consists of:
- 5 spacious double rooms, including 3 Junior Suites and 2 Suites. The rooms are all equipped with flat-screen TV, minibar, free Wi-Fi, desk, wardrobe/hangers, and private bathroom with hairdryer. The 2 larger rooms are also equipped with a sofa bed to accommodate up to 4 guests.

- Large communal hall, located in the ancient cellar, used for breakfast and as a relaxation room. The hall, where the reception is also located, is equipped with tables, a fireplace, and a lounge area. Next to the hall, there are 2 bathrooms, one of which is accessible for people with disabilities.

- External porch for breakfast and relaxation area to be used in spring and summer.

- Large outdoor park available for guests.

- Guest parking.

Furthermore, deeply convinced that we must offer a truly sustainable experience in terms of the environment, we have decided to use renewable resources to meet the energy needs of the structure and the activities carried out within it:
- An innovative 12kW photovoltaic system integrated with photovoltaic tiles. Our system has been mentioned and a photo of it has been published in the yearbook of Legambiente's Virtuous Municipalities.

- Heating, air filtering, and cooling systems with a state-of-the-art Toshiba low-impact heat pump system.

- Production of hot water with a combined system of solar panels and heat pumps.

Area countryside

The hamlet that gives its name to the municipality has not been a municipal seat since 1870, when it was transferred to Praticello, a more central location with respect to the municipal territory. The first colonization of the area, once covered by woods (as evoked by the many phytodes of the villages: Nocetolo, Olmo), took place by the Cenomani Gauls of whose settlements were found archaeological traces. In Roman times the area was reclaimed and colonized according to the scheme of the centurial distribution of which it is still evident trace in some areas, especially in the area of ??Nocetolo: the current via Zappellazzo overlaps in fact the route of the ancient Via Tabularia, fundamental guideline for the connection of the villages along the Po with the Reggio hill. In 568 it fell under the Longobard domination and, according to tradition, Duke Clefi died here, together with Attila and Totila. Later it was the turn of the Carolingians, the Bishops of Parma (875-1060) and then the Farnese. Annexed in 1811 in the Napoleonic Department of Crostolo, Gattatico returned to Parma in 1816, passing in 1848, as a result of the Treaty of Florence, first to the Este Duchy and then, with the Unification of Italy, to the province of Reggio Emilia. The municipality of Gattatico was officially established in 1859 by a dictatorial decree of Farini. The events related to the religious jurisdiction of the places of worship of the Gattatic territory are likewise tormented; in fact they were subject in time to several vicariates: Castelnovo di Sotto, Sorbolo and finally Sant'Ilario, then Diocese of Reggio Emilia-Guastalla, in 1853 [4].

Beautiful and well-renovated, the Casale Caroli is located in the midst of the Parmesan countryside in a position suitable for reaching the various destinations of our itinerary and sufficiently convenient for the city of Parma. A structure with an ancient flavor but comfortable with the possibility of internal parking. Friendly and very helpful staff. We enjoyed a spacious room on the first floor with a view of the countryside, very pleasant. I would recommend adding a wardrobe for clothes instead of the metal structure, which I think clashes a bit with the environment. In the bathroom, I felt the lack of a surface for my accessories, but especially of direct lighting on the mirror. We were satisfied with our choice and if we had to return to the area, we would choose it again.

I rated 10 out of 10 for everything because everything lived up to expectations: the place is easy to reach yet secluded and quiet, the structure is beautiful and well-maintained, the rooms are simple but comfortable and spacious, the breakfast is rich and good, the immediate response - always available and kind - to all the messages I sent from the moment I inquired about room availability (we were 10 adults) until we left.

Everything was good, as expected. Room to be decorated with some more accessories / photos as it was a bit impersonal compared to the overall structure, very typical in furnishings and structure.

A fantastic accommodation, I found myself in a very spacious beautiful room equipped with all the comforts. The structure is very beautiful and tells a story, but despite being old and maintaining its style, it has been renovated and is very clean and the interiors and services are new. I arrived at the desired time without any problems as the entrance was completely autonomous with clear and simple instructions, and I found a service almost like a hotel with a minibar in the room, without having to give up the countryside and a rustic structure. If I am in that area again, at that price, I will definitely come back.
