Description
Terra Antica is an organic agriturismo nestled in the lush greenery of the Emilian hills, located in a pristine area of the Tuscan-Ligurian-Emilian Apennines. Overlooking the Taro River and surrounded by mountains that mark the border with Tuscany and Liguria, it is the perfect destination for those seeking tranquility, nature, and authenticity. Its prime location, close to the ancient Via degli Abati, allows guests to embark directly from the property on walks, treks, and moments of deep connection with the surrounding environment.

The philosophy of hospitality here is intertwined with a profound love for the land and its produce. Terra Antica practices fully organic farming, certified annually by CCPB, cultivating vegetables, fruits, herbs, saffron, and producing honey, jams, pure apple juices, flavored vinegars, and dried IGP porcini mushrooms. All these ingredients take center stage in the kitchen, where every dish is prepared on-site, with bread, pasta, desserts, and cookies baked fresh daily, always honoring local culinary traditions.

The rooms are welcoming, well-maintained, and equipped with private bathrooms, featuring daily cleaning services and attention to detail. Outdoors, spacious areas ensure peace and freedom. The panoramic pool overlooking the apple orchard, the Finnish sauna with a view of the woods, and a massage hut complete the wellness offerings for a truly rejuvenating stay. To enhance the experience further, hearty and healthy breakfasts, along with dinners made from fresh, local products, are designed to rediscover the joy of togetherness and good food.

At Terra Antica, every guest is greeted with warmth and authenticity, in an environment where nature sets the pace and each season brings different emotions. It is a simple yet precious refuge, where one can reconnect with oneself and enjoy the pleasures of things made with love.

Breakfast
At Terra Antica, breakfast is not merely the start of the day; it's a daily ritual of care and attention that we call “Breakfast&Love.” Each morning, Laura passionately bakes cakes, tarts, cookies, bread, and homemade jams, using ingredients from our organic garden and orchard.

As you help yourself to the buffet, filled with pastries, fresh and dried fruits, yogurt, cereals, freshly sliced cured meats, and local cheeses, Fabrizio greets you with a smile and prepares creamy cappuccinos, espresso coffee, fresh eggs, and delicious omelets on the spot. Every detail is designed to make you feel pampered in a warm, familial atmosphere that smells delightful.

It's a moment of simple joy where genuine flavors meet heartfelt hospitality. A breakfast that not only satisfies but also sweetly enhances your entire stay at Terra Antica.
Restaurant
The kitchen at Terra Antica is the heart of the agriturismo, where authentic dishes are crafted every day with care and love. Everything is homemade here: from fresh pasta to desserts, side dishes to jams, using ingredients grown directly in our organic gardens or sourced from local producers. Each component tells a story of seasons, the land, and a passion for good food.

The hours spent in the kitchen are devoted to the joy of hospitality: every dinner is an opportunity to gather around the table and rediscover genuine flavors, featuring traditional recipes and always varying dishes designed to highlight the freshness and quality of local products. The dedication we put into each preparation is our greatest pride and the most sincere way to care for you. At Terra Antica, eating is much more than just sustenance: it’s about sharing, experiencing emotions, and enjoying each other’s company.

Hey from Fabrizio

Fabrizio and Laura are the heart and soul of Terra Antica. After leaving the city, they decided to pursue their dream in the hills of the Tuscan-Ligurian-Emilian Apennines: to live in harmony with nature, cultivate the land, and welcome guests to an authentic and rejuvenating setting.

Fabrizio is a veterinarian with extensive experience in agriculture and beekeeping. He passionately tends to the organic garden, the apple orchard, the bees, and the production of honey, juices, jams, and saffron, carefully overseeing each step with attention to detail and respect for the environment.

Laura, who has a love for cooking and interior design, has revitalized a large stone house, paying meticulous attention to every detail with taste and sensitivity. She enjoys preparing breakfasts and dinners using fresh and wholesome ingredients, crafting dishes that reflect the local area and seasonal produce, always with a personal and inviting touch.

Together, they have turned Terra Antica into a unique place where every guest can feel warmly welcomed and enjoy a peaceful vacation amidst nature, tranquility, and delicious food. Their desire is simple yet profound: to share the beauty of the location and the joy of genuine hospitality.

Area hills
Terra Antica is located just a few minutes from Borgo Val di Taro, in the heart of the Apennine region of Parma, where the valley of the same name marks the convergence of Emilia-Romagna, Liguria, and Tuscany. It is an authentic and less-traveled area, rich in charm and vibrant traditions, where time appears to flow at a slower, more natural pace.

The landscape is diverse and captivating: the Taro River gently winds through forests, hills, and valleys, while ancient villages, castles, and fortresses from the Duchy of Parma, Piacenza, and Pontremoli dot the surroundings, narrating tales from distant eras. This land is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor life: one can hike or mountain bike, go mushroom or chestnut picking, stroll along the river, or venture into the mountains, exploring scenic trails and hidden waterfalls that can reach impressive heights.

Ideal for motorcycle trips, horseback riding, and days spent in nature, the Val di Taro offers simple and genuine emotions, accompanied by an extraordinary variety of landscapes and the warm hospitality of its people. It is a place to rediscover silence, breathe clean air, and be inspired by the beauty of the environment.
