If you would like to see Amalfi Coast, Pompei, Capri, Ercolano and Paestum with out missing a typical Italian city, choose Salerno and our B&B. We can offer you: conditioning air, wi-fi connection, pretty terrace, the chance to park your car (please contact us, before), mobile phone during your stay (the calls are not included).

Salerno is a fascinating example of what the Mediterranean has to offer all those who wish to have a closer knowledge of it. The town presents itself as a friendly comunity to visitors and tourists from all over the world.

Over the last few years the town council has improved its urban aspect and recuperated the social – economic functions of the area: ancient monuments and churches have been restored: new parks and gardens have been opened in various town quarters; roads and squares have been replenished with plants and benches and lit by ornate street lamps, many spaces have been retrieved for artistic, cultural and recreation activities; sports facilities have been increased with the building of new structures such as the Arechi Stadium. Many projects have been carried out to improve the surroundings and standard of living in certain parts of the town.

One can see the many traces of ancient history mixed with the artesan shops and places of entertainment where people throng, in the old town of Salerno which is both quite extraordinary and charming. The recovery of the old town was accomplished thanks to the urban project financial funds which have enabled the discovery of artistic and cultural treasure. Today one can read the town’s history merely by looking at the alleys and squares, the churches and buildings. One can perceive the course of events which have followed, a testimony of the flourishing economic, social and cultural splendour of the past centuries.

Nightlife takes place right here in the old town. The town hall has made the opening of many restaurants and places of entertainment possibile. At weekends the many pubs are filled with youngsters till the early hours. In the summer however, people prefer the fresh air of the seafront which is just a few metres away. The coast is also not short of discoteques and places of entertainment

Hi, I'm Francesco!
In 2009, after working abroad, I decided to open one of the first Bed and Breakfasts in Salerno in chronological order.

The decision to embark on the Bed and Breakfast experience reflects a fundamental part of my character, openness to the "other." I have always been fascinated by the opportunity to meet different people and cultures.

Graduated in "International and Diplomatic Relations," I am passionate about international politics and intercultural exchanges.

The B&B "Salerno Centro" allows me to have a window on the world.

My home is open to friends, guests, and anyone with a kind heart!

Salerno Centro Bed and Breakfast, born to give you an unforgettable holiday with "wi-fi zone" and big terrace, offers pleasants rooms and the best care for the guests, to make your visit to Salerno a special experience.

We are in the heart of the city, in Piazza Portanova, on the first floor of a fifteenth-century building recently restructured with masterly skill. The building, built for the will of the Church, soon became an important monastery, and today are still visible traces of its religious past.

Our Bed and Breakfast is situated among the most important monuments of the town, such as the Cathedral of St Matteo. It’s near the railway station and the port, where you can take some ferry-boats to arrive in the famous Costiera or to the islands like Capri and Ischia. We are between the main shopping streets called Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Via dei Mercanti, and the wonderful promenade.

“Salerno Centro” is a perfect solution for everyone, because it unites the desire to visit culutal sites with the desire to spent nice moment discovering Salerno by night, in fact, when the sun leaves the place to the light of the night, you will know the salernitanian movida. There are a lot of restaurants pizzerias and inns which can satisfay every taste with dishes of our tradition, but also many trendy night clubs where you can taste drinks and listen to music.

Great location in central Salerno. Francesco and his parents were very accommodating. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. Francesco gave us a lot of food recommendations for Salerno and also when we went to Amalfi. His mom made a wonderful breakfast for us in the morning. They made sure we had a smooth arrival and departure, but gave us space/privacy the rest of the time, as they live offsite. We really appreciated their hospitality. I enjoyed being able to visit the busier towns on the coast, and then return to a quieter, peaceful town.

The B&B is very clean and the breakfast is excellent. The B&B owners are very helpful in providing information about tourist destinations and directions to these destinations. The location is excellent and guests can walk to restaurants, do shopping, and visit some local sites on foot. It also is located near bus, train, and boat transportation that travel to many major destinations. \n\n The actual B&B is located in an apartment building in a very safe area. It is small, with only three guest rooms and a dining room. There is a outdoor balcony with tables, but this area is not in use in the cooler weather.

We just had an amazing three nights at the Salerno Centro Bed & Breakfast! From even before we made our reservation, Francesco went beyond my expectations. Great location close to many restaurants and lots of shopping. The rooms were very comfortable and extremely clean. Wonderful breakfast made each morning by Lina, Francesco's Mother. Francesco and his Father Pasquale, graciously drove us to and from the train station as well as to the marina. Every activity and restaurant that Francesco recommended we loved, especially the cooking class we had with Lina at their family home. It was the highlight of our two week trip to Italy!

I had a great stay with Francesco. His family went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I have stayed in many places but have never experienced the level of service I received at Salerno Central. They provided a delicious breakfast every morning and drove me to the boat dock to hop on tours of the Amalfi Coast and Capri. Francesco helped us a lot with local information and tips about transportation, visiting local sites, restaurants and eateries in not only Salerno but other towns along the beautiful Almafi coast. It was a wonderful stay in Salerno. I got in very late, but they made sure to still meet me at the train station. Francesco and his family were so kind, and made sure to give me all the information I would need to get around. We had a wonderful time in Salerno mainly because we were lucky enough to have stayed at Salerno Centro B&B. Francesco, the owner/manager, was one of the best hosts we have had in any B&B in our 20 years of annual international trips. He was very responsive to all emails both before and during the stay. He was present every morning and evening to answer questions, give touring advice, and help us plan our day. He went way beyond the typical actions of a host by even picking us up at the train station when our train was delayed until after midnight! We took the cooking class offered by the B&B and it was great fun. The B&B rooms are located in what was once a convent from the 1600s, now completely modernized. The building had so much character, but was still right in the center of downtown Salerno. Close to restaurants, shops, the waterfront, and the historic cathedral. The ferry dock nearby offers ferries to Amalfi, Positano, and Capri. Our room was very comfortable with an en-suite bath and private patio. Breakfast served each morning was generous; offering cured meats and cheeses, yogurt, fresh bread, and a special sweet pastry. In addition, hot eggs made to order were included. We left appreciating all that Salerno has to offer, without having to fight any of the crowds of Positano or Amalfi. Salerno Centro B&B is the best place to stay for your visit.

Francesco is a splendid, caring host, expending exceptional effort in support of our stay in Salerno, going far beyond our expectations. His mother and Francesco provided excellent breakfasts in a relaxed and homelike setting. We spent a wonderful evening in his parents’ apartment, where my wife took part in preparing our dinner which we then enjoyed. This was an exceptional experience, taking part in a genuine Italian family setting. Our comfortable room in a 16th century building, was located on a piazza in the historic center of Salerno, providing easy access to this city’s ancient streets and lanes which were delightful for an evening stroll. This location is within easy waking distance from the ferry terminal, for access to the Amalfi coast.

This was a charming property with a great location. Our hosts were extremely friendly. Mom was a great cook. Dad was happy and always smiling. And Our main host, Francesco, spoke very good English. He was super with information... He had great ideas and would go out of his way for you at any time. He was fun to be around and interesting to talk to. He also does tours such as the Greek ruins tour we booked with him. He did an outstanding job. We can't complement him enough. Good people, good conversations, good location, outstanding breakfast, beautiful rooms and so very helpful. Best place we've ever stayed. ❤️.

Professionalism, courtesy, and attention to the customer are just some of the qualities you will find in this B&B. Located in the bustling heart of Salerno's nightlife, it is also strategically positioned to explore the entire Amalfi Coast. It was recommended to me by my mom who had been their guest in 2017. Upon our arrival, Francesco (who proved to be very helpful from the moment of booking) showed us the must-see places in the area, also giving us a map of Salerno and the ferry schedules. The breakfast is excellent. Really excellent. Coffee, cakes, croissants, yogurt, and a savory breakfast are also available. During our stay, Mrs. Lina and Francesco left nothing to be desired. They cared about our needs every day. Mrs. Lina spread out damp beach towels for us to dry, Francesco drove us to the Manfredi pier when we had to visit Capri. They went far beyond what their duties were. One day we were struggling with bus schedules, and Francesco helped us via Whatsapp, indicating the best solutions. Only when you have love for your work and for others can you be so generous. I will always remember with immense pleasure the morning chats with Mrs. Lina and the messages received from Francesco to check if everything was going well and if we needed anything. They never made us feel abandoned, quite the opposite. It was a comfort to be their guests because they are genuinely helpful people. I will have to leave Salerno with the melancholy of not seeing them tomorrow morning at breakfast. They will always be my first choice for any stay in Salerno. I sincerely and highly recommend this property to anyone needing accommodation in the area... It's the best you'll find. (And probably not just in Salerno!). EXCELLENT value for money. Perfectly clean environments.

I needed to stay in Salerno for an emergency and after doing some research on the internet, I contacted the bed and breakfast "Salerno Centro", comforted by the countless and all very positive reviews to which I can only fully join satisfied. The welcome was truly warm, from Francesco and his mother Lina, to the point that it really felt like entering a family. The whole structure also conveys the warmth of home and countless delights can be seen looking around. In addition to the maximum cleanliness and attention to the guest, they were generous with advice and directions that made me, among other things, want to come back as soon as possible when it will be possible to enjoy a nice holiday in beautiful Salerno and its surroundings. We have stayed at this B&B multiple times. Whenever we made a trip to Salerno, Francesco was the first property we would call for reservations. The location is close to the train station, shopping, and waterfront. Francesco and his parents are wonderful people and they made us feel like we were part of their family. We stayed at this property during the Christmas lights period and also in summer, being located right on the main street of Salerno, it offers the possibility to reach the promenade and move around the nearby areas, all very beautiful. I was lucky enough to meet the owner, Francesco, several years ago. Extremely kind person and owner of a wonderful structure, in terms of location, cleanliness, breakfast and... I found maximum courtesy and availability from him and his mother who prepares a truly sweet breakfast, all this has made this structure an environment that makes you feel like you're at your own home. I highly recommend it especially during the period of the famous (artist lights) because besides being located on the main street where everything takes place and also in front of where they place the largest Christmas tree in Salerno. Must visit.

My boyfriend and I chose this period during the Luci d'artista. We left from Piacenza in the early afternoon, once we arrived in Salerno it was already late evening, we went to the parking lot affiliated with the B&B and there we found Pasquale, Francesco's dad, he welcomed us like you welcome a child you haven't seen in months. After loading the luggage, we arrived at the B&B located in the center of Salerno, the structure is an old seventeenth-century convent all renovated with an elevator. The interior of the B&B is warm, welcoming, there we immediately found Francesco ready to offer us a coffee like a good host. Once the bureaucratic part was done, he accompanied us to our room Positano, a clean, tidy, warm, welcoming room with all the comforts. Breakfast at the B&B is great, prepared by Francesco's mom, Mrs. Lina, you find everything from sweet to savory. The nice thing is that Francesco was also interested in our itinerary and helped us choose the best location to spend our holidays. It was a beautiful holiday, the friendliness we found is priceless. We will come back.

We stayed at this B&B for three nights. The location of Salerno Centro is perfect. It is right in the center of the city, close to many great restaurants and shops, and only a 15-minute walk from both the train station and the port, a great base to visit the Amalfi coast. Francesco and his parents are very warm people and made us feel like part of their family. Francesco is very knowledgeable and passionate about Salerno and the Amalfi coast, he offered many great suggestions and answered our numerous questions. Breakfast was served each morning on a lovely open terrace and was delicious, and Lina's cakes were simply amazing. Our room was cleaned every day. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. Despite the B&B being quite close to the train station, we were given a free ride. I cannot recommend this B&B enough. Francesco, Lina, and Pasquale, thank you again, you made our stay very special.

This Bed and Breakfast is THE BEST in Salerno, for sure. It is very central and very safe. Francesco and his parents offer the warmest welcome and you will have a true Italian experience. They are beautiful, respectful people and you will be doing yourself the biggest favor if you book this accommodation. I would recommend staying at least 3 nights if you want to visit Amalfi and Positano and take a look around Salerno. If you want to visit Capri, you might want to add another night. We are so happy we stumbled upon this accommodation, we were not disappointed. Overall, I rate this property 11 out of 10! Thank you Francesco.

I cannot imagine staying anywhere other than Salerno Centro for our trips to Salerno. I have even told friends who want to see the Amalfi Coast that they should stay at Salerno Centro and travel the Amalfi Coast from Salerno instead of staying somewhere such as Sorrento (where my husband and I have stayed and enjoyed, but Salerno, ahhh!). This bed and breakfast truly is every positive statement that any reviewer has ever written. Francesco and his parents are kind and helpful. The bed and breakfast is lovely, safe, clean--everything that I want. The breakfast is delicious and filling. And the cooking class that is offered is so special. We are looking forward to our next visit there in April of 2019. Our previous trip was in October of 2017, but I couldn't select those dates. I only recently found them on this web site.

This was my first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast and I must say it was such an amazing experience! Francesco and his family were so generous and extremely helpful! I would recommend this B&B to anyone wanting a real Italian experience. You MUST make time to cook with Mamma Salerno Centro! From the time we arrived until the time we left we felt right at home. Francesco was waiting for us at the train station when we arrived. We went to the B&B and was shown to our room and then invited to the dining room for homemade Limoncello! It was some of the best I have had! Our room was clean, quaint and quiet. After a great sleep we had a breakfast spread with bread, cheese, ham, jams, nutella, yogurt, homemade cake and many other items! The cake was amazing! Afterwards Francesco took us to a Buffalo Farm that produced many organic buffalo milk products! I had the best mozzarella, ice cream and yogurt I have ever tasted and purchased a lovely leather wallet and coin purse! That evening we went to his Mamma's and made homemade Ravioli, eggplant Parmesan and tiramisu (which was the best tiramisu EVER and I now have a secret ingredient to add to mine!) We also had more homemade Limoncello and homemade wine from a family friend that was perfect! The next day he gave us a map and told us how to get around the city and we made our way to Pompeii and My Vesuvius! You MUST go here as well! Today was our last day and I was sad to go! Before taking us to the train he drove us up to the castle to see the breathtaking view! I will definitely be back for another visit to this wonderful city and to visit with Francesco and his lovely family!

Precision, seriousness, courtesy and more! It is managed by invaluable, very helpful people. We went to see the Luci d'Artista and Mr. Francesco detailed the routes to take and how to best organize our tour. He also indicated the location of the various churches. It was an excellent guide on paper. The father, Mr. Pasquale, accompanied us to park the car and to pick it up. The mother prepared a very abundant breakfast for us, where there was everything, including an exquisite cake just made by her. There were three of us and we took two rooms: needless to say how accurate the cleanliness, order, and furnishings were. Even though outside the temperature was quite cold, the heating in the rooms was perfect. In conclusion, I cannot find any reason to make any criticism. It is a place where I will definitely return and which I will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Francesco and his mother, Lena, made us feel as though we were staying in the home of a friend. We felt very comfortable in this very clean and well-organized home - it was very quiet for sleeping. The location is the best - so easy to walk to the ferry, promenade along the sea, the train station, bus stops, and a multitude of wonderful restaurants and cafes. The Piazza, where the B&B is located, is at one end of a ten-block pedestrian boulevard with stores and cafes - there is always activity with lots of people enjoying being outdoors. It is in the medieval part of the city and we enjoyed day and evening walks along many very old and narrow streets - the sights were incredible. We loved immersing ourselves in the day-to-day life of a very authentic Italian town. We stayed for a week and every day, Francesco went out of his way to provide valuable information and help in planning our day trips - including the best transportation and restaurants at our destination. He and his family were very gracious hosts and very genuine and nice people. We enjoyed the daily breakfast as well as the coffee, tea, and pastry that was available in the kitchen.

This is a wonderful property. Salerno Centro is much more of a typical Amalfi Coast town than many others, so you will get a more authentic experience here. It’s easy to get to the other towns or even Capri by modern ferry. What really makes the difference, though, is this bed and breakfast and especially the host, Francesco. He is a genuinely kind person and speaks excellent English. He will help with anything. I was really impressed with his knowledge and he can even arrange for you to take area excursions. I asked Francesco how to plan my days since my time was limited and he gave me excellent advice every time. I attribute one of the best vacations I ever had to Francesco, his inn, and his family. You will not regret staying here. I have only wonderful memories when I think of this place and I think about it often.

This beautiful bed and breakfast, located right in the city center, was just a minute walk from the coast and some of the best restaurants in Salerno. I stayed with my family in this wonderful structure located in the historic center, convenient to transportation and the city center. We were welcomed by the hosts with politeness and friendliness, very helpful, they recommended places to visit, restaurants where to eat well. The structure is a 16th-century palace, the interior of the house where the B&B is located is tidy and very well cared for in details, impeccable cleanliness. The landlady personally takes care of preparing breakfast, her homemade cakes are delicious. We have promised ourselves to return to relive other carefree days in the tranquility of this place. First of all, the essential: very, very clean. Breakfast perfectly European. Intimate environment, perfect for meeting wonderful people, if you desire. Lots of information on things to see and do in, and/or surrounding Salerno. The Host's are amazing. Warm, inviting, and extremely knowledgeable. We stayed here for 10 nights. In the City Center. Walked to everything, exploring the city on foot. Shops are fantastic. Found several amazing restaurants. The options are endless. Area famous for seafood dishes, did not disappoint. Walked the promenades, met local shop owners, restaurant owners. It was truly magical. Walk to museums, the Duomo, with its own Saint. Gardens of Minerva. An outstanding experience. We had the en suite area, with the piazza attached. One can hear, see and take in the sounds of the city. Close the doors, and it is a quiet retreat. Our hosts were just so outstanding. We could not have been more pleased with our experience. Parking is an issue if you want a car, as is with the entire city. But, transportation can be managed. It is within the walls of the old citadel, and there is nothing that cannot be done by foot. Rental facilities for cars within walking distance. We took one for 2 days, and could walk to the parking garage. But, this was overall, not an issue. The City is just so wonderful, if one wants the quintessential Italian experience. And, our lodgings were perfect for supporting our desire to have such an immersion into this amazing culture.

Salerno Centro is one of the best bed and breakfasts I have stayed at. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone staying in Salerno or around the Amalfi coast. We had a wonderful time and were well taken care of here. The breakfast was wonderful! The host's mother made the breakfast and it was delicious. She also gave us a cooking lesson one night.
