Area city center
We are in the heart of the historic center of Naples. The Spanish quarters were built around the 16th century to accommodate Spanish military garrisons destined to suppress any uprisings of the Neapolitan population, or as a temporary dwelling for those passing through Naples on their way to other conflict zones.
The area is well-suited for tourism, thanks to its unique urban layout, new shops and restaurants, small fish and vegetable markets that are stationed inside, small artisan shops, and narrow alleys characterized by steep staircases and clotheslines hanging between the buildings. In general, the folklore that the area preserves makes the Spanish quarters a sought-after destination for curious tourists from all over the world.
