Description

Pensione Maria Luisa, one of the historic hotels of Positano, in a panoramic position a few minutes from Fornillo beach in a quiet pedestrian area. The hotel is located just 2 minutes from the main road with the popular restaurants Saraceno D' Oro and Mediterraneo.

From the terraces of our rooms with sea view open the images imprinted on the postcards: from here you can admire the colors of the sunset while sipping an aperitif or making beautiful pictures. Those who could not book in time a room with a private terrace, can of course use the common terrace and available to all our customers.. botany room with sea view, TV and mini kitchen. The concierge service in 4 languages (Italian, English, French and German) is available for information until evening.

I would not return to Positano. It is extremely expensive. Stairs everywhere. Many private beaches. I'll make a comparison: a taxi from Sorrento to Positano 150€; a flight from Argentina to Madrid 500€.

Riguardo alle scale, purtroppo il paese è costruito sulla montagna (infatti è conosciuto nel mondo come "la città verticale") e quindi è inevitabile che ci siano delle scale. Ci dispiace però che abbia indirizzato la recensione a noi come hotel invece di esprimere la delusione per Positano in internet. Cordialmente.

This place is a gem! It will be a bargain as far as Positano accommodation goes. The staff all speak perfect English and are so helpful. The location is fantastic.

Perfect stay. The hosts are lovely, always there for questions and tips. Room was amazing, view was INSANE - we even had dinner 2 nights in a row on our terrace because it was that beautiful. Would recommend!

We were blown away by our experience at the Pensione Maria Luisa hotel. We stayed in the sea view triple room, where the view was spectacular from our private terrace. The staff was incredible. We can’t say enough about Carlo, the host. He is an absolute gem and made our stay that much better. Will be staying again next time we come to Positano.

The view from our bedroom was amazing! The room was clean and very new. Regina (host) was the most incredible host from our 30 days trip to Italy and England. The best! The last night I said that I wanted to have dinner on our balcony. She provided plates, wine glasses, and everything I needed for an incredible night! Thank you!

Absolutely stunning view from the Seaview rooms, truly amazing! The host was very helpful and sweet, property is very clean, affordable in comparison to others I found and in the most amazing location! Walk down the stairs and you’re at Da Ferninando which is a beautiful beach club that is reasonably priced too!

This is truly a special place! Carlo, the owner and host, is the kindest man and genuinely hospitable to all of his guests. The room was spacious, clean and had a large patio with a stunning sea view. The location is great for exploring Positano and spending the day at Fornillo beach. A 15-20 minute walk to town center on the main road or down some steps to a seaside path. Fornillo beach is less busy than the main beach and has some great lunch spots at the beach clubs. The beach is a short walk down about 300+ steps. You get used to it!:) We had the most amazing breakfast nearby at Posides Cafe - highly recommended. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return again in the future!

Our room was really nice! Elegant, fresh and modern but still Italian. The bed was great, view great, bathroom great, air conditioning great! Comfortable walk to the center. Close to the lovely Fornillo beach. The host Carlos was very sweet and accommodating. This stay was amazing and the price was fantastic. We are two students and this was the only affordable place for us. Not only was it affordable but great in every way!

The hosts are great! They helped me figure out transportation since the ferry service and port were closed on the day I was leaving. The rooms were nice and clean, and I had a great view of Positano even though I booked a bit late. The location is a little high up; you do have to climb a considerable amount of stairs. If coming from the port and climbing the stairs to the hotel, I recommend paying a porter to move your luggage. If arriving by car, then it is just a short walk from the main road and just a few stairs. I would book this hotel again if I came back to Positano.

Pensione Maria Luisa offers an absolutely stunning view of the sea and the Amalfi coast! Highly recommend the balcony rooms. The single room with double bed itself was small but clean. The staff was lovely and helpful throughout our whole stay.

Great value in Positano. Situated beautifully near the main street with good restaurants, so easy walk at night to find dinner. Beautiful terrace overlooking the sea. Highly recommend!

The hotel had spectacular views! We were greeted by Andrea and from start to finish he had excellent customer service! I would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here. Expect stairs when staying in Positano but there were not too many to our hotel from the taxi drop off point.

I had a lovely stay at Pensione Maria Luisa, in a fantastic spot away from the chaos near the center, many steps down to the beach but worth it. All of the good restaurants are only a stone's throw away. We had a room with a sea view terrace which was perfect for relaxing on a hot day, also has a guest terrace with a great view of the sea and buildings on the hill. Can't fault our stay at all. Highly recommend.

Had an amazing stay at Pensione Maria Luisa in Positano this summer. The property is a 2-minute walk from a bus stop, so it's easy to get around the small town of Positano. The hosts Andrea, Carlo, and Miguel were extremely helpful and hospitable to me and my mother. Lastly, the view from the balcony is breathtaking. Staying in Positano is expensive, but the view is worth it! Hopefully, the hosts can offer breakfast soon!

Clean room, with a spectacular view right on Fornillo beach. The terrace is truly stunning, it also has a small table, umbrella, and sunbed! Very helpful and kind staff, they were exquisite people. The location is great as the structure is located near Fornillo beach, and many restaurants. I absolutely recommend it!

Carmen and the team have been wonderful from the moment we came and we always got a prompt response to all emails/enquiries. We had a fantastic time at Positano and the hotel is located in a very good part of Positano, with the beach 5 minutes away too. It is close to all the other attractions as well. The views are picturesque both at the hotel and in the area. We can't wait to go back soon and stay there again. We would recommend the place very much as you won't be disappointed. From our first email to Carlo, we've received nothing but great service. Location was perfect for our needs, we rented a car and there was a car park ($25/night) very close by on the main road so did not have to trek our luggage up/down many steps. Property was cozy, with a great view of Positano's hillside. Very close to Fornillo Beach and 15 mins to main beach. Close to many great restaurants and shops. Excellent price for this property, we would stay here again of ever visiting the Almafi coast again.

Pensione Maria Luisa exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. Great place to stay, approximately 5-10 minutes stroll to the heart of Positano by road or approximately 15 minutes down lots of steps and along the water. Staff are very friendly, super helpful and accommodating with any questions or requests we made. Breakfast was superb and inexpensive - just make sure you let the night staff know you want breakfast the night before. We had a room with a private balcony. It was very clean, very spacious and had an amazing view of the water. We would definitely stay here again and also highly recommend to my friends to stay here also.
