The Hotel Villa delle Palme, located in the heart of Positano, the Fornillo district, has always offered its guests authentic hospitality that has distinguished the Amalfi Coast for over 50 years. In 1959, Domenico Milo with his wife Carmela bought the building that was previously the residence of the mayor of the municipality and turned it into a delightful family-run hotel.
Domenico Milo, known for his contagious jovial spirit through the stories and poems he recited to his guests, also received official recognition for his contribution to the Positano tourism industry, as one of the few with 50 years of activity.
Nowadays Carmela and Domenico's daughter and granddaughter still run the hotel.
From the Villa delle Palme hotel, a pleasant walk through the picturesque streets and along the steps that characterize the entire town leads to the Spiaggia Grande and the Spiaggia del Fornillo. The Town Hall and the Church of Santa Maria Assunta are just 15 minutes walk away.
Villa delle Palme is located on the main road between the two well-known family restaurants Saraceno d'oro and Mediterraneo, which apply a special discount to hotel guests.

One of the most charming neighborhoods, deeply linked to the history of Positano, is Fornillo one. By a natural cave, in which there are a shrine and a wonderful nativity scene, representing Positano miniature, it has always been a refuge and resting place of artists and writers. They have lived the painters Vincenzo Caprile, Maurits Cornelis Escher, Massimo Campigli, Raffaele Bella, playwright Cesare Giulio Viola, playwright, director and screenwriter Aldo Di Benedetto and important actors such as Vittorio De Sica, Alberto Sordi and Anna Magnani. Long ramps that lead to the beach Fornillo meets the lovely church of Santa Margherita, with fine typical Neapolitan terracotta floor, partially tiled, one of the most beautiful corners of our village.

Manuela and Giuliana are the perfect hosts. They have a comfortable, friendly, and caring place to enjoy Positano. They made great recommendations for places to see and where to eat. This hotel was great. We loved it. The Wi-Fi wasn't strong and they tried resetting it for us, but it just didn't work. I needed it for work so it was the only bummer.

This is my second visit to Hotel Villa delle Palme, a wonderful family-owned hotel in the best position in Positano, high on the mountain top with fabulous views over the sea from our balcony on the second floor. The family is so welcoming, looking after our every need. Breakfast was served in our room on our balcony in beautiful sunshine. We enjoyed dinner in one of their two restaurants, serving wonderful local food. This small hotel can't be faulted, just superb. I can't wait to return.
