Description

CasaLora is an ancient country house, situated in panoramic position on the cape of Punta Imperatore, in the island of Ischia.

Originally constructed for the grape harvest, it has been later on transformed in a Bed & Breakfast.

It is encircled from a wide land, rich of fruit and olive trees from fruit, citruses and from a garden that hides evocative corners for your relax.

In the beautiful season the meals are served under the trellis from which you can enjoy the sight of magnificent sunsets.

The kitchen is based on genuine products, and proposes the typical Neapolitan plates from the ancient flavours and scents.

Breakfast

CASALORA's breakfast is served in the living room or under a pergola in the garden and usually doesn't include savory foods, but we are ready to make some exceptions. However, there is a wide selection at the buffet, including hot and cold drinks, toast bread, biscuits, cereals, yogurt, homemade jams (only made with garden fruit and sugar), island honey, and fresh fruit.

In 1997 MIRELLA COVATTA, who was born and lived in MILAN, but whose family came from Naples, transformed in a bed and breakfast the country house of her mother’s family in ISCHIA, realizing in this way at the same time her desire to run away, for part of the year, from the office work and the urban life and her wish to stay a little bit nearer her aging mother who had decided to move to the island.

Their house had always been open to friends and, as time passed, to the friends of their children and to the children of their friends… It seemed then natural to transform this attitude towards hospitality in an activity that could bring back vitality to the ancient house and could also put in light their characteristics: attention to the others, curiosity for all the aspects of cultural life, the capacity to welcome guests and make them feel at home, an always discreet openness.

Their success was also due to the rich recipe book of the family, always full of typical dishes made with the fresh products of the garden and served in front of an astonishing view.

A few years ago the picture has changed. The grandmother is gone, MIRELLA stays a little longer with her grand-daughters in Milan and her son PAOLO, with his Brazilian wife LEIDI and his sister-in-law LUCY, took over CASALORA.

After globetrotting to follow his multiple interests, passing from the development programs for the third world to the musical entertainment in tourist resorts and the Human Rights Film Festival, Paolo has decided to go back to the origins and to make his family grow on the island where, last year, ISABEL and THIAGO were born.

The property is in a panoramic location, so it is cool and comfortable. It is equipped with everything you need, including an air conditioner to combat the most stifling heat. Breakfast is varied and served with lightness and harmony. The pool is convenient.

Paolo from CasaLora is a very helpful host: he provided us with all the information we needed and made an effort to make us feel comfortable. The accommodation is very welcoming and equipped with the essentials. The breakfast shared with the other guests at a large table in the courtyard made us feel literally at home, as did the dinner organized on the last day of our stay. The strength of CasaLora is definitely the conviviality that can be felt from the moment you step through the door of your room in the morning. I would come back tomorrow. I rated the location of the property a 7 solely due to the uphill path that needs to be walked to get there, but even here Paolo literally assisted us every time we showed we needed help.

We had a wonderful relaxing time at Casa Lora. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable and the garden with amazing views and palm and orange and lemon trees is simply stunning. We enjoyed the pool and lovely breakfast - excellent coffee - at a long table under the trees with other guests - we really enjoyed chatting with other guests. Paolo was such a welcoming and kind host - even picking us up from the harbour when we arrived on a hot lunchtime. The bus stop is close by and Paolo was helpful with a taxi contact. We only stayed 2 nights which was definitely not long enough! I would highly recommend staying at Casa Lora and I plan to return.

A structure with rooms of various types, in a panoramic position and immersed in a large garden, with a pool. Very close to the bus stop. Italian breakfast on the large terrace. Paolo and Rosa are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.

I definitely had a great time. The place is really beautiful, the atmosphere relaxed, the host super friendly. It is easy to reach by bus and there are nice places to eat or have a drink nearby. I traveled alone, felt very safe and did most visits on foot. I would definitely recommend this place. And hopefully you will come back later, because 1.5 days in Ischia is far too short.

The accommodation is a bit off (on a hill) from the center. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you - but having a rental car is advantageous, as the nearest bus stop is a bit far away. The view and the huge garden with pool are also great. The landlord, Paolo, is a really nice guy - he always had good tips (regarding beaches or restaurants) for us. Breakfast is served on the terrace - at a long table, where all guests can sit - perfect. We will gladly come back.

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Lora, and we will go back again. Paolo and Lady made our stay unforgettable, they treated us like friends, were always available, day and night, and our stay felt like being immersed in the local life, not like merely tourists. Nothing like waking up and being greeted by a fully stocked table in the house's courtyard, surrounded by fruit trees, a magnificent view and the morning breeze! Natasha ensured coffee, croissants, fruits and homemade pastries were always available, even past breakfast hours. Even if there's a bit of a hill to walk up to in order to reach the casale, the peace and serenity you feel when you're there, it's surely worth it!

Me and my family had a wonderful stay at CasaLora, they were so accommodating, patient, and helpful. The view from CasaLora was absolutely stunning, the rooms had all the amenities you would need for a short stay, and there is a nice simple Italian breakfast included in your stay! There is also a direct bus line that takes you anywhere in the city just a 5 minute walk from CasaLora.

Paolo and his family are excellent hosts. Very well located on the hills of Forio, CasaLora is a magnificent villa. The view over the bay, the pool, the natural sauna, and the tranquility of the garden full of fruit trees make this place a real little paradise. The room is large, well-furnished and equipped (fans, hairdryer). The breakfast is plentiful and very friendly. We could not have hoped for better. Thank you very much and see you soon CasaLora.

I was on vacation on the island of Ischia in June and was very pleasantly welcomed by Paolo, who picked me up at the port. The bed and breakfast is very well located on the heights of Forio. The swimming pool and the buildings are surrounded by a magnificent garden, creating a little air of paradise. Do not hesitate to go there.

I stayed pleasantly in a structure with a pool, spacious flower gardens, and in a beautiful large two-room apartment with the flavor of historical living with a super panoramic terrace. The only downside is the access in the last three hundred meters through a narrow street, but if I had to come back, I would definitely go back there.

Spectacular location, very nice, friendly, and efficient managers. Structure immersed in a beautiful garden, with swimming pool and natural sauna. The room (La Glicine) is spacious, bright, and with a private terrace. Great value for money (at least at the end of September). Standard breakfast, but with homemade jams.

Yes, I had a vacation, unfortunately short, but beautiful. CasaLora is a little paradise and Paolo and his family are very hospitable, attentive, and friendly. The place exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it to everyone, especially to those who appreciate nature and genuine things. I hope to come back, maybe in a less chaotic season.

Excellent stay. Beautiful setting with a very nice garden and pool with a view of the bay of Forio and Mount Epomeo. Simple and comfortable room (fridge, ceiling fan, but no air conditioning). Warm welcome from Paolo (who picked us up at the port of Forio and dropped us back there). Excellent breakfast. Also treat yourself in the evening to the cuisine of Paolo and his Brazilian wife. And Ischia is so beautiful.
