Casa Maddalena Family is a stunning and sophisticated 110 square meter apartment, beautifully furnished and equipped with all the amenities to ensure a pleasant stay in the city of Sassi, the European Capital of Culture in 2019.

Located on the ground floor, the apartment offers all the comforts that guests may need, including heating and air conditioning.

This ground-floor apartment features a fenced courtyard and a veranda. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and breakfast needs, including pots, dishes, cutlery, cups, and glasses. Casa Maddalena Family has a lobby beneath the building where guests can find parking for their cars. It is just a 20-minute walk to the Sassi, as it is situated on one of the main streets of the city, Via Nazionale, close to all essential services and shops, such as supermarkets, phone stores, bakeries, and a fruit market.

The apartment consists of two double bedrooms, each with the option to add a single bed, a spacious living room with a sofa, two bathrooms attached to the bedrooms, and a kitchen complete with all appliances, including a washing machine, refrigerator, and stove. Guests can also enjoy internet access and a LED television. There are two air conditioners and independent heating available. The apartment can accommodate a maximum of 8 to 9 people.

The host provides guests with exclusive access to the entire apartment, including linens and kitchenware.

Parking in the garages beneath the building incurs a small additional fee of 10 euros per night.

We stayed at this property for two nights. The cleanliness was excellent and so was the availability of Mrs. Graziella. Unfortunately, the property did not meet our expectations, as it is actually a rental apartment and not a bed and breakfast. The breakfast, aside from the (delicious) croissants delivered by Mrs. Graziella, had to be prepared by ourselves (coffee with pods, milk to be heated with a gas stove, and juice boxes). There was no room cleaning service, which I would have expected in a bed and breakfast. However, for two nights it can be acceptable, it would have been better to know beforehand that it was a rental apartment with breakfast "provided" by the property and not a bed and breakfast. At the same price, one can find better accommodations.

Our stay was truly pleasant and comfortable: spacious, clean, well-heated, and well-equipped apartment. \nThe lady Graziella was punctual, precise, helpful. She provided us with many excellent directions for our stay, short but comprehensive, in Matera. It was easy on foot, with a pleasant walk of about 15 minutes, to reach the city center. Well-equipped kitchen, breakfast with excellent croissants delivered in the morning by the owner in person. Recommended.

Kind and helpful host at any time of the day, dispenser of good suggestions on what to visit. We were greeted with a map of the area, marking possible routes to follow. Well-kept and welcoming house with spacious rooms and balconies. Public services such as bus, bank, supermarket, bar, etc... downstairs. The town center can be reached from the property in just ten minutes on foot. Parking space in the garage. Sweet and savory breakfast delivered to the doorstep every morning with a choice of preferences. Who knows, maybe we will meet again, perhaps to dream and be pampered even in winter. Located in a strategic area, close to the center and the Sassi. Well-supplied area for both shops and transportation and parking. Mrs. Graziella was extremely kind and showed us the secrets of Matera in advance. Recommended especially for families (we are 5 with a 6-year-old child).

We stayed at Casa Maddalena for only 2 days. We were a family group of 10 adults divided into two spacious apartments. Mrs. Graziella was very kind throughout, from our arrival, giving us valuable tips to visit Matera. Not to mention the breakfast, the apartment is very clean and well furnished. It is located in a great position to visit the city. We recommend it to large families like we were. Mrs. Graziella will make you feel comfortable.

We were two families, we stayed in the two external dependencies compared to the main building, both accommodations were large, new, welcoming, quiet, nothing was missing and even more. The owner is uniquely sweet and available. The only downside, if one can say so... the presence of many cats which might be a problem for someone who does not appreciate animals. The location is very good but not optimal, about 20/25 minutes walk, serene... but certainly not in the historic center... However, I believe that in terms of quality/price ratio it is well above the average of what is found around. Super breakfast!

The apartment that hosted us was spacious, well-kept, very clean and equipped with all comforts. The location is also good, allowing you to reach the 'Casa Maddalena' with a 15-20 minute walk. We stayed in 3 families on 14th August 2021. Cozy, clean structure and in a good location to quickly reach the center of Matera. Very helpful the owner Mrs. Graziella with advice on restaurants, bars, city tours, etc. etc. The accommodation in the annex of the structure is very nice. Highly recommended.

The structure was pleasant, but above all the welcome by Graziella. She provided us with all the necessary information for a complete visit to the wonderful Matera. The small and pleasant walk to reach the Sassi allows you to see squares, monuments, and streets with shops and local businesses. I recommend it.

We stayed in a spacious apartment for 5 people, with 2 bedrooms and a living room with the 5th bed. Everything clean, airy, bright. Very comfortable and functional apartment, also enhanced by the kindness and availability of Mrs. Graziella. She assisted us from the arrival by showing us all possible itineraries to enjoy the wonders of this city. Well connected to public transport and all kinds of shops, really just a stone's throw away, worth mentioning the cheese factory around the corner. For lovers of walks, you can reach the historic center in just 15 minutes. The strong point is the possibility of having a parking space. And don't miss the breakfast, plentiful and with warm croissants in the morning. Recommended for a family-friendly vacation.

Great apartment 20 minutes walk from the central square, perfect for a couple with or without children, with the possibility to cook and a very useful outdoor courtyard in case of a child with a tricycle. The owner is very kind and available for any information. Excellent taste in decor and excellent cleanliness.
