Description

Rocca sul Mare hotel will receive you in an exeptional medieval palace, placed in the heart of the ancient little town of Vieste and very close to the sea.

The special favourable geographic position, at the extreme easter spot of Gargano, will give you an impression of being on a vessel!
Many rooms have a private balcony, with a wonderful view of the isle of the lighthouse and the little church of Punta San Francesco. A furnished solarium is even at yours disposal, to spend your day in relax and assist to the romantic and colorful sunset and sunshine.

You'll taste special garganic food, based on genuine ingredients and daily house made pasta and the special flavour of extra-virgin olive oil, produced in our ancient farm.

We can offer you a menù a la carte with a wide range of choice or, in alternative, an half-board/full-board treatment.

Breakfast is served on the terrace with a wonderful sea-view on the lighthouse of Vieste and the church of San Francesco.

We are in the heart of the historic town of Vieste, in a restricted traffic zone, ALL OUR GUESTS CAN ARRIVE BY CAR UNTIL THE RECEPTION, then we'll help you to find a parking place for your car.

A rich breakfast is always included in the room rate.

When weather conditions allow it (usually from March to October), it is served with the scent and relaxing view of the sea, on a beautiful terrace of typical Gargano architecture. During the winter months, you can relax in the warm room adjacent to the terrace, which maintains the ancient barrel vault with nails and the original 1400s terracotta floor.

You will be pampered with Gargano delicacies, with a menu that includes typical products such as bruschetta with excellent extra-virgin olive oil produced by our ancient family farm, fresh Apulian bread, fruit juices, fresh seasonal fruit salad, cookies and traditional desserts, in addition to the classic coffee, tea or cappuccino with croissants.

Restaurant

We have a traditional restaurant located on a picturesque terrace under the arches, with a romantic sea view. Soon, we will open a new dining room within the ancient Federiciane walls, directly on the cliffs of Vieste.

The accommodation is very centrally located. The view is very beautiful. The hosts are very friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable. We had a great time at the Albergo Rocca sul Mare, especially for staying in a historic residence with a picturesque view. Our room was very spacious and had a balcony overlooking the sea. Every morning we had the opportunity to have breakfast on a small terrace also overlooking the sea. The only downside was the kitchen, which was not as we expected. The owner was very kind and helpful.

Se potevo dare un voto più alto lo avrei dato: mai stato meglio per l'ambiente, seppur semplice, ma molto familiare e cortese, in assoluta serenità, ciò che più apprezziamo, io e mia moglie. Abbiamo usufruito della cucina con ottimi piatti semplici, gustosi e abbondanti a prezzi abbordabili. In conclusione un plauso a Francesco, il gestore, e tutta la sua famiglia che collabora con lui. Lo consiglio vivamente per chi non ha bisogno di sfarzo ma servizio, gentilezza e signorilità. Ad maiora.

Siamo una coppia con un cane ed abbiamo soggiornato piacevolmente per dieci giorni nell'albergo Rocca sul mare: ci sentiamo di consigliarlo, specie a persone giovani e/o dinamiche, poiché in effetti presenta delle barriere architettoniche oggettive, non per incuria ma perché si tratta di un palazzetto antico, con una lunga storia (era un ex convento, poi diventato dimora nobiliare), che si respira in alcuni dettagli di pregio, come i pavimenti, le porte, le volte. I gradini per salire nelle camere sono piuttosto ripidi, specie quelli che conducono al terzo piano, dove si trova la terrazza, dalla quale però si gode una vista spettacolare sulla punta S. Francesco, i tetti di Vieste e il mare: vi consiglio di andarci verso sera, quando il sole accende di luce dorata gli edifici rigorosamente bianchi, come vuole la tradizione pugliese. Le camere sono sobrie ma c'è tutto l'indispensabile, inclusi un comodo frigo e l'aria condizionata e molte di esse hanno un balcone o un terrazzino. Vi consiglio le camere con vista mare, che generalmente mi sembrano più belle e spaziose (ma anche più care). Per quanto riguarda la colazione, nulla di eccezionale, ma il bello è che si mangia su un terrazzino vista mare, per un risveglio frizzante al mattino e per cene romantiche alla sera, accompagnate dal pianoforte suonato dalla figlia dei proprietari, che tutte le sere salgono ad ascoltarla, un tenero quadretto familiare! Da sottolineare la buonissima pasta fatta in casa dalla signora Raffaella e la simpatia delle cameriere, sempre disponibili ed allegre, come del resto tutto il personale, sempre gentile anche con il nostro cane. Infine l'edificio si trova nel punto più affascinante del centro, proprio tra la passeggiata sul mare piena di locali graziosi e la via Mafrolla, una delle più frequentate dai turisti. Si può arrivare al mare a piedi, percorrendo, a seconda della spiagge, meno di un chilometro (attenzione, l'albergo non dispone di un parcheggio). Insomma, pur con qualche limite logistico, questo albergo è perfetto per chi cerca un'atmosfera calda e familiare, il sapore del tempo e della tradizione. Assolutamente dog friendly.

Ottima posizione centrale per vivere al meglio il paese La Terrazza all'ultimo piano offre una vista spettacolare Il personale molto gentile e disponibile La nostra stanza arredata in maniera semplice, non proprio recentissima, ed è proprio la sua particolarità, ci si proietta in un'altra epoca.
