Description

Welcome to our home,
I am Anna Maria Aprile, the twelfth generation owner of Masseria Aprile (AD 1700).

Built in the charming Valle d'Itria 1 km (15 minutes walk) from Locorotondo.

The farm has belonged to our family since 1700 (the year it was built).

In 1992 together with my husband Antonio and my children Valerio and Stefania, we renovated and launched the Agriturismo.

The farm is part of an agricultural estate of 25 hectares and consists of a large courtyard, wide green pastures surrounded by woods able to be explored on foot, the olive grove, the vineyard and the seventeenth century trulli, unrivalled examples of genuine architecture made from local stone.

There is also the courtyard with cockerels and hens, and the small church, where my marriage was celebrated.

I live with my family in the ancient stone manor house.

Ali and Pasquina, our horses, along with Sisina, our donkey, are an integral part of our family!
All 7 rooms have been sympathetically restored and furnished with every comfort, with objects belonging to our farm which tell our history.

Breakfast is served in the antique stone barn dating from 1915 or in the splendid adjoining veranda where the view of the countryside is delightful.

The buffet includes:
• cakes and biscuits
• bread baked in a wood oven, butter and homemade jam
• Fresh homemade yogurt and cereals
• cold cuts (Martina Franca capocollo or salami) and cheese
• tomatoes, salt and extra virgin olive oil (our products)
• orange juice and water
• seasonal fruit
• tea, milk, coffee, cappuccino
• eggs from our hens.

This stay at the Masseria was our love at first sight in Italy! The place is incredible: the land, the vineyards, the shared spaces like the spa, the hammocks, the children's play areas, the animals and, of course, the hosts! Our apartment was perfectly clean, the beds comfortable and how lovely! Everything is very well thought out, nothing is missing. The kitchen is also well equipped and we preferred to cook on-site and eat while enjoying the splendid view rather than go to a restaurant! And what about the breakfasts with fresh products from their land. The place is in an ideal location for visiting the nearby towns. We would have liked to stay for all our 10 days in Italy, but we will definitely come back on our next trip. A big thank you to the hosts who made our stay unforgettable.

Farmhouse run by a friendly family. Mrs. Ana is a lovely person who spoils her guests with many delights at breakfast. Her daughter Stefania is very nice, welcoming guests upon arrival. Ample internal parking and charming and comfortable "trulli". Produces wines and oils that are sold on site. The best part of all is the welcome that the Aprile family provides to their guests.

Fabulous Masseria close to Locorotondo. The host, Stefania, is outstanding. Breakfast was anticipated every day and was a treat. Trulli rooms are wonderfully maintained. You could not ask for more.

Great welcome, great care of the structure. The breakfast, all homemade, is top-notch. Customer care 10 out of 10. The only thing is the price is a bit high, but well deserved money. Structure to recommend.

Embarrassing. Yes, we feel embarrassed to give all '10', we seem too superficial or lacking in the ability to evaluate, but to understand that we are right to rate Masseria Aprile with the highest scores, you have to go there, so you can only confirm our evaluation! You feel like a child again being pampered. Exceptional everything. The location, a few steps from Locorotondo, so you can enjoy the view while being immersed in nature (a greeting to the good hens, cats but above all to Pina and Sisina). The breakfast, spectacular in quantity, quality and variety, with very fresh products baked with love every morning. The structure in general, very well-kept and clean even beyond the whiteness of the dazzling white of the trulli (ours was the hayloft trullo). But all this is definitely the merit of the people who proudly carry on their work, a real family that makes you involved and an integral part of them. Thank you for all that you do and will continue to do. We will be back! Daiva, Otilija and Fabio.

We are a family of four and we just spent an idyllic 4 days at the Masseria Aprile. The place is beautiful and extremely well kept. The love of the owners for their property can be seen in every nook and their hospitality is top notch. We loved our morning talks with Signora Anna and Stefania. Their homemade cakes are to die for. We stayed in the stalla which was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Special thanks goes to Matteo who was our guide up in the woods and with Sisina & Pina. We hope to see you all again very soon!

Simply superb. ALL the staff were helpful and charming. Stefania & Anna are exceptional hosts who make you feel welcome and look after you continually. Anna's breakfasts are off the scale! 3 or 4 different home made cakes, (freshly baked every morning) home made bread, home made jams & marmalade, local cheese & ham, fruit in season, (we were there in May, so strawberries, apricots & cherries) home made yoghurt, as well as cereal, tea, coffee etc. Everything is either home grown or locally sourced. Stefania's attention to detail gives Masseria Aprile that extra special touch. Everything you would expect but much more..every room has its own character, antique furniture made from original doors, curtains & cushion covers from their great grandparents time, a clothes line and pegs outside the door.

This is a wonderful place to stay to explore the Valle d'Itria. The hosts are a wonderful family who couldn't be more helpful and Anna is a wonderful cook. The location is also perfect as you get all the benefits of being on a farm but it as just a short walk into Locorotondo, which is one of the prettiest towns we have seen in Italy.

Hello, this was the best decision to book 10 days at Agriturismo Masseria Aprile: beautiful and very calm location - perfectly situated between Locorotondo and Martina Franca (both very nice little cities). Everything is renovated with love, good taste, and passion. The breakfast is the best I ever had! Fantastic warm welcome and family hospitality in Italian and in English. We tasted delicious home-baked focaccia, frittata, and cakes every day at breakfast. Only 15 minutes to walk to the city of Locorotondo where there are plenty of nice local restaurants, a lot more genuine than Alberobello.

We seek high and low for the ultimate properties wherever we travel in the world, look no further than Masseria Aprile, it is in a most lovely position from Locorotondo; with views up to the town from the breakfast room which are breathtaking, a gently rewarding walk or bike to Locorotondo proper, proximity to all of Puglia's wonders; from west to Matera, south to Otranto, next door to Ostuni/Martina Franca/Alberobello etc and at a mere easy one-hour drive to Bari via the autostrada easily accessible by plane.. and more importantly the family, my golly, precious, vivacious, patient, kind, knowledgeable, the list goes on the property, immaculate, in every sense, from the breakfast space to the grounds to the accommodations, perfection, this is a well-oiled family-made machine and breakfast, full of homemade goodness in the service, food; Anna is an out of this world baker chef, and Stefania is so diligent, attentive, candid, enjoyed all while looking out full windows into their endless land of vineyards/olives, nuts, fruit trees, simply divine, the list goes on truly. You will not be disappointed take it from us and our hours of seeking the net for the property to hunker in to whilst in Puglia; this is it.

A little paradise, this masseria! The setting is charming with a very beautiful view of Locorotondo and the surrounding countryside. The welcome is perfect and the restoration of the trulli is of rare refinement.\n\nWe were two senior couples and we loved our stay in this family-run masseria.

We stayed for 4 nights in the very charming and cozy Casaro trullo. It was unexpectedly cold the days we were there so the heated floors made the room extra comfortable. The location is great for those using public transportation, about a 15-20 minute walk to town. We enjoyed visiting the horses, donkey, and chickens and walking along the country roads. The best part though are our hosts. Anna with her amazing baked treats and energetic personality. Stefania, who speaks English well, picked us up at the train station and was very helpful with maps and ideas and Antonio who gave us rides to the train station. This is a wonderful place to stay with very warm, hospitable hosts and a delicious breakfast!

Very well-kept masseria, yet genuine. Located in the beautiful countryside of Valle d'Itria at the foot of Locorotondo. I wanted a real farmstead not turned into a resort and Masseria Aprile represents this. The rooms - apartments are large and very well-kept in detail. The rooms were on the ground floor and being surrounded by hectares of wonderful olive trees we enjoyed a wonderful silence so much that we were very sorry to stay only one night. In the evening, my cousin and I had a wonderful bath in the outdoor hot tub. At eight in the evening it was warm, on one side amidst the trees there was the moon and on the other the postcard view of illuminated Locorotondo. Mrs. Anna recommended us an excellent restaurant in Locorotondo which can be reached in a few minutes. I also want to underline the goodness of the typical breakfast served on a beautiful covered terrace overlooking the countryside and Locorotondo. Of our 10-day trip, it was the most beautiful place among those where we stayed.

The masseria and its grounds are gorgeous, the family is as friendly as you could hope to meet, and Stephania's English is excellent if that's a concern. My apartment was roomy, spotless, and oh so comfortable with glorious views from the front and back patios, and Anna's breakfasts were spectacular. In fact, they were better than I expected. I had read about her mouth watering cakes, but didn't expect the best cappuccino I'd ever had, courtesy of Anna's hand-frothed milk. You won't believe what a difference that makes. I stayed three nights in Masseria Aprile without a car. There were the grounds and country lanes to explore and nearby (1 km) Locorotondo to visit. Plus, just relaxing on my patio with a glass of the Masseria's wine. Pick up and drop off at the train station is available, and bike rental can be arranged, so if you want to experience the Puglian countryside, but won't have a car, please do consider Masseria Aprile.

As we expected it was great for us with the child as well, there is much space and he had as much fun as we had.
