Hey from Laura
In the heart of the Aosta Valley mountains, amidst meadows scented with flowers and silences that tell of ancient stories, there's a place where time is light: that place is La Thuillettaz.
Here, every awakening smells of fresh laundry and clear skies, and every window opens onto an infinite horizon.
Here, the body rediscovers its well-being and is lulled by the harmony of the Alpine landscape.
Here we live, and here we welcome you, personally and with the same care we give a returning friend.
We're happy to recommend walks, experiences, and places to discover—from hiking our trails to winter sports, to the traces of history that live on in our villages.
Being a classic B&B, our home is within the building, but your rooms, with their own private entrances, ensure privacy and tranquility throughout your stay.
I look forward to hosting you in this corner of paradise and introducing you to our beautiful Alta Valle del Gran San Bernardo.

Area
The open, sunny slopes of the Testa di Crevacol are home to about 22km of ski facilities as high up as 2400 metres with a view over the whole Gran San Bernardo Valley and excellent exposure to the sun: with its incredibly clean air, you can perfect your downhill style, enthuse over a snowboard or venture onto ski-Alpine excursions.
There are also numerous itineraries for summer excursions on foot or by mountain-bike, with the possibility to observe elements of flora and fauna typically found in the Valley.
The Malatrà Hills, along the Alta Via n. 1 route are of some interest as well as excursions to the Citrin and Serena Hills.
The healing, iron based water at Fonte di Citrin is well known. It flows down 1800 metres from the valley of the same name and gushes in a wood fountain located at the beginning of the forest in the village Pont.
Already Salasso territory at the time, in the past a Roman mansio, stop off point for travellers, could be found here.
From here, across a ravine full of conifers, amidst enchanting scenery, a road leads to the Gran San Bernardo Hills, one of the oldest in the Alps, by following an old Roman road.
The Hills have always been a transit route and played a determining role in relations between the north and south of Europe.
Leaders, pilgrims, popes and travellers have passed along here; the most famous being that of Napoleon in May 1800.
Nowadays, the town’s economy is strictly linked to the opening of the Gran San Bernardo Tunnel that opened in March 1964. It is a modern motorway tunnel linked with Switzerland and fitted with state of the art monitoring systems that rank the structure as one of the most modern in Europe.
Worth a visit is the Strong house at Chez-Vuillen and the old stone wash-house with the Count Savin di Bosses’ coat of arms, as well as the Castle of the Bosses lords dating back to the XV century and the Hills, the G. S. Bernardo Hospice museum, and nearby in summer, you can visit the ranch where San Bernardo dogs are bred, true forerunners of modern rescue vehicles.
In July at Saint-Rhémy-en Bosses, the traditional “Jambon de Bosses” food festival is held. It is dedicated to the famous, quality uncooked ham with a delicate taste and strictly seasoned in the mountain pastures of the area.
It was also recently awarded D. O. P. recognition.
On the last Sunday of Carnival, the Bosses’ masks decorated with their very rich costumes, parade through the town’s streets.
