Description
La Maison de Grand-Maman is a stone residence from the 19th century that has been transformed into a cozy mountain chalet, where every space tells a story of restoration, passion, and respect for tradition. The renovation has been personally overseen by the owner, who aimed to highlight the original structure through the creative use of antique wood, vintage furnishings, and nostalgic alpine artifacts, resulting in a warm, harmonious environment full of character.
The house spans two levels and welcomes guests with enveloping atmospheres, where the scent of wood, elegant fabrics, and soft LED lighting blend with historic furniture and authentic details. Common areas include a kitchen with a cellar and a breakfast room, while the three bedrooms provide intimacy, comfort, and a sense of tranquility that encourages relaxation and a slower pace of life.
Nestled in the heart of a small mountain village, the property enjoys a peaceful yet easily accessible location, with private parking adjacent to the public road. In the milder season, the garden next to the house becomes a perfect spot to unwind in the shade of the trees and fully experience the serenity of the valley.
Breakfast, included in the stay, features local organic products. The bathrooms are stocked with soaps and shampoos made from alpine flowers, and during the summer, guests can also enjoy fresh organic vegetables from the property’s garden. Enhancing the authenticity of the experience is the presence of the owner, a nature guide, who offers those interested the opportunity to explore the Champorcher valley and the trails of the Mont Avic Natural Park, providing a direct connection to an unspoiled and genuinely welcoming mountain landscape.
