Description

The Gran Paradiso B&B is located in the historic center of Pompiod (Jovencan) in an old farmhouse called “La Meison de Rose”, and the panoramic view sweeps from the glaciers of the Chateau Blanc to the surrounding vineyards. Nearby it is possible to visit some castles (Sarre, Sarriod de la Tour) and the historic center of the city of Aosta.

In the village a Holistic Center has just been opened with massages / whirlpool / sauna, perfect for relaxation after your excursions
The Pila ski resort is easily accessible, as are the Nordic ski slopes of the Gran Paradiso valleys. The owner, Alpine Guide of the Gran Paradiso and profound connoisseur of the Aosta Valley area, will provide you with valuable advice for your excursions and climbs on our mountains and for your tourist visits throughout the Aosta Valley.

The B&B has been restored directly by the owners, who have patiently recovered the original wood, walls and furniture parts of the building, creating a welcoming and warm alpine environment.

Breakfast is prepared with homemade products such as cakes (Sacher specialties and Tarte des Anciens Remedes), honey at "km 0" homemade jams, and is served in the common room, finished in wood recovered from ancient tables and fully furnished with Aosta Valley furniture. prestigious - Open all year round, suitable for families and sportsmen.

A few kilometers from our bed and breakfast begins the Gran Paradiso National Park, one of the best preserved and protected areas of the Alps, where Nature can be admired in its splendor; ibex, chamois, eagles, marmots and many other animals are waiting for you.

At the entrance to the house we have set up a place to wash your hands, equipped with water, sanitizing soap and disposable paper napkins.

Inside the B&B you will again find sanitizing gel at the entrance, in the breakfast room and on the first floor and we have masks for those who have forgotten them.

In the summer we prepare the breakfast tables outside as well, but also in the internal breakfast room we have enough space to keep your distance - our products will be served to you in principle directly at the table

Breakfast

Our breakfast is served in the common room on the ground floor, fully furnished with antique wood. The breakfast is buffet-style and includes:
- Two types of bread (white and wholemeal)
- Homemade cake
- Yogurt (both plain and fruit-flavored)
- Muesli and corn flakes
- Homemade jams
- Fresh seasonal fruit
- Milk, coffee (both from a coffee maker and filtered), a wide selection of teas and herbal infusions
- Fruit juices
- Locally produced sugar and honey from our neighbor.

Upon request, we also serve a savory breakfast with eggs, ham, and local cheese. Please inform us in advance if you would like the savory breakfast, as it is included in the regular room price.

We would like to specify that all our jams are made by Karin, using fruit from our family orchards whenever possible. Only fresh fruit and regular white sugar are used in their preparation (no thickeners or sugars with added pectin are used).

Typically, we offer jams such as peaches, apricots, strawberries, cherries, plums, apples and oranges, apples and kiwis, figs, pears and quinces.

The morning cake can be either Sacher cake (chocolate cake with apricot jam) or apple and almond cake (typical of the region), and in summer, we serve fresh fruit cake. Other cakes prepared by Karin include cherry or plum tart, chestnut and walnut cake, carrot and oatmeal cake, and the newest addition, rhubarb cake. All cakes are made with fresh eggs from our family-raised hens.

Upon request, we can prepare breakfasts for people with celiac disease.

By car:
From the A5 motorway (Turin - Courmayeur/Monte Bianco), take the exit "Aosta Ovest - Saint Pierre" and then turn right towards "SR 47 - Cogne Aymavilles" - after 1.4 km, at the roundabout, turn left towards "SR 20 - Jovencan" - after 1.9 km, immediately after the sign "Jovencan-Pompiod", turn right (white sign B&B Gran Paradiso) - follow the road for 200 meters and continue straight after an intersection - the B&B is on the right after 30 meters (wooden sign).

For those coming from Aosta on the "SR 20" (right side of the valley), pass the village of Jovencan and after 1 km (barred sign "Jovencan-Pompiod"), turn left towards "Hameau du Raffos" (white sign B&B Gran Paradiso) - follow the road for 200 meters and continue straight after an intersection - the B&B is on the right after 30 meters (wooden sign).

By bus/train:
From Aosta Railway Station, take Line n° 5 "Aosta-Aymavilles" (one trip every 30 minutes) - get off at the Pompiod stop - walk along the road "Hameau du Raffos" (white sign B&B Gran Paradiso) and after 200 meters, you will find the B&B on the right after the intersection.

Everything was perfect. A welcoming and well-kept environment, without however a "fake" feel, but with the family warmth and availability that Karin and Corrado (I hope I'm not mistaken with the names!) share with tangible joy with their guests. The Monte Rosa room is a gem! Exceptional value for money and the breakfast was top-notch with homemade pastries. Thank you for the pleasant stay. Elena and Graziano.

I can only add another excellent review for this B&B. A corner of paradise, meticulously cared for, with the style and aroma typical of the mountains. Very charming room, large bathroom, fully equipped. From the garden available to guests, you can immediately feel relaxation and well-being. Breakfast with a real moka served at the table (perfect for coffee lovers like me). Not to mention the homemade jams and cake (the fig one was spectacular). All accompanied by the attentiveness and kindness of the excellent Jacopo. A place where you can feel the difference compared to many others of similar size, even if more expensive.

We stayed with Karin and Corrado for a long weekend at Ferragosto and, to our great surprise, despite the 'typical peak period', we found ourselves in a very peaceful, relaxing place, surrounded by nature and away from the chaos of the main tourist resorts, yet with everything within easy reach. For us, the B&B was an excellent base for daily excursions in the Gran Paradiso National Park and for evening outings to bars and restaurants (recommended directly by the owners) that offer many local products and specialties. The welcome for our four-legged companion was excellent and she felt at home! (Not to be taken for granted because it is always difficult to travel with a dog and find suitable accommodations). Breakfast 10+! Prepared every morning by Karin with km-zero and homemade products, with carefully selected ingredients and very little sugar. We will definitely return because Corrado, as a mountain guide of the Gran Paradiso, has many suggestions for itineraries to discover and Karin surely still has many cakes for us to taste.

We enjoyed our stay in B&B Gran Paradiso. Corrado and his wife are very friendly and attentive. They are very approachable and happy to share their suggestions for walks or alternatives in case of rainy weather. We did a via ferrata guided by Corrado. That was a very nice experience and definitely worth repeating. The rooms are tastefully decorated and cleaned every day. You couldn't wish for a better stay with Karin's home-made jam and cakes. One night stay in July in the Monte Bianco room, small but clean and with a spacious bathroom. Abundant breakfast both sweet and savory (upon request) with really tasty local products and coffee made with a moka pot! Managers present and helpful. Great structure! We only stayed one night for a sports event and we were a team of 6 adolescent boys. The managers were wonderful, very kind, in short, TOP! I rated the location a 6 only calculating the distance from the Palazzetto di Courmayeur where we had to go and because unfortunately we didn't have time to visit anything. Highly recommended.

I stayed in the Monte Rosa room with my husband for one night in the bed and breakfast that I consider a true gem. Located in a quiet hamlet of Jovençan, just a short distance from Aosta. Decorated with care, respecting the Aosta Valley tradition, using original materials and making it very welcoming. Available to guests is the area where breakfast is served, for a tea, an herbal tea. Delicious breakfast, with local products and exquisite jams made by the owners, the lady Karin's cake is excellent. The owners are kind and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Typical structure of the area. Well kept in every detail by Mr. Corrado who leaves nothing to chance. We were "divinely" in the Monte Rosa room which, although small, is very well furnished and above all functional. Thank you for everything.

The Gran Paradiso B&B is wonderful. The rooms are clean and spacious. Karin and Corrado are two perfect hosts: very attentive and present, but at the same time discreet. I appreciated the garden in front of the structure very much. The breakfast is excellent, prepared with the fruit from the garden and with products from the Valley. Excellent location for walks, trips, and for reaching the larger towns, for example, Cogne is 20 minutes by car. Highly recommended B&B.

Very beautiful structure, well furnished and clean. Availability of adjacent parking to the structure. The area is quiet (mostly residential with houses and small grocery stores), but a 5-minute drive from Aosta. The host is very nice and helpful, she also recommended itineraries for our trekking. The breakfast is plentiful, you can choose between sweet and savory. Cakes, biscuits, and (delicious) jams are prepared directly by Karin and are exquisite. Pity to stop only for the weekend. We will be back!

Cozy, clean B&B in an excellent location for those who want to ski, walk, or visit the surroundings of Aosta. What a marvel! If you need to find peace, hospitality, kindness... this place is for you! As soon as you step through the entrance door, a scent of wood and "home" pervades your nostrils; the rooms are extremely clean and well taken care of in every detail. Abundant breakfast with typical and homemade products (excellent jams and cake!). We only met Corrado who is a fantastic host, made us feel comfortable and it's really pleasant to chat with him. I can't convey how well we felt more than this, you just have to try it to believe it!

Great place to stay in Valle D'Aosta, from every point of view. The structure is beautiful, clean, well-kept, and authentic. Located in a quiet, cool, and quiet place (Pompiod, fraction of Jonvancan). The location is great, reasonably close to all major attractions (Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa, Matterhorn, Gran Paradiso). The owners are very kind. They know the region very well and are always generous with advice on what to visit, when, and the best way to get there. The breakfast is delicious, with genuine products of their own production, and is served in the lovely garden. All at a really affordable price!

Extremely kind and caring owners, offer a rich breakfast with homemade cakes and jams and typical local products, right at zero kilometers. For our short stay in Aosta Valley, we found the Gran Paradiso to be perfect in every way. The hosts Corrado & Karin were very warm and welcoming, they were very open and helpful with information about the area and other requests. The room was very clean and comfortable with modern furnishings. The breakfasts were fantastic with an array of homemade preserves, bread, and other local produce. We would highly recommend a stay at Gran Paradiso and if we get the opportunity to return to the Aosta region, we would definitely hope to be able to stay again at the Gran Paradiso.

The manager is a very courteous and polite person. He welcomed us and assisted us with great patience, giving us many tips on the routes to follow, taking into consideration that we had two children. I have visited several B&Bs but the cordiality, kindness, and availability of Karin and Corrado are truly top-notch. They were extremely skilled in renovating the spaces, combining tradition and progress: the result is comfortable rooms that recall the old mountain house, a bit low, a bit dark but very cute. The silence and peace just a few minutes from Aosta are priceless and Karin's jams are a must-try (I have seen ten or twelve and all made by her). Corrado, tireless Alpine Guide and handyman at home, suggested alternative itineraries to those I had hypothesized, making me discover less frequented areas but certainly much more interesting and fascinating than the usual tourist destinations. Karin's advice on where to go for dinner was perfect and without moving too far we tasted several local specialties. Overall an excellent vacation and hopefully we can visit them again. P. S.: if I really have to find a flaw it's the beds that, being made of wood, "squeak" a bit too much Thank you for everything.

Me and my travel companions had a great time at this B&B. The location is quiet, relaxing, close to Aosta and well connected. The B&B is beautiful, renovated with great taste, all in wood/metal/stone, also studied in the smallest details. Really cozy. The managers are nice, kind, helpful, they make you feel at home. Excellent breakfast, with natural products, and here too it feels like being pampered at home. We went snowboarding at Pila, a beautiful ski resort, full of off-piste points, really fun. We will gladly return.
