Description

Au Vicariat was born from the complete renovation of the ancient rural house, dating back to the late 1600s, while respecting the traditions of the Aosta Valley and the mountains, and preserving the environment with the installation of a wood and pellet heating system, using hot water produced by solar panels.

Over the years, a part of the house has served as the headquarters of the "Vicariate, " which gave its name to the structure, as well as the kindergarten and school for the children of the village.

The other section included a stable and stone vaulted cellars, one of which has been meticulously restored, along with a typical dwelling with "Peillo" and "Méson, " and an upper barn.

During the restoration, original prints and their corresponding descriptions of the historical costumes of Valtournenche were discovered in a wooden box, providing a glimpse into the lost traces of this local tradition, as well as numerous other costumes from Valdostan folklore.

“Au Vicariat” is located in the center of Valtournenche near shops, bars and restaurants into an ancient house dated end 1600 entirely restaured by Tamone family with ecologic system. The wood floors, the girders , the stones, the warm quilts and the textiles give the B & B the rustic and typical mountain chalets atmosphere. The three doubles rooms have Tv, privat bathroom with shower and hair dryer
Near “Vicariat B&B” you will find Sport-center with swimming-pool, sauna and Turkish bathroom, artificial climbing and gym. A bus-stop just near the B&B is available for an easy connection with to the Matterhorn Valley and the International Valtournenche Breuil-Cervinia Zermatt Ski resort

The structure is located in the center of the village, you can briefly park the car about fifty meters away to unload the luggage (there is a staircase to climb). Then there are 2 free public parking lots where you can leave the car, reachable on foot in a couple of minutes. The room with bathroom is nice, functional and organized with everything needed. Too bad we didn't have breakfast, but there are several bars nearby. We had a great time!

Ringraziamo per la recensione, i consigli degli ospiti sono sempre un prezioso aiuto per migliorare i servizi offerti. In questo caso però il suggerimento che ci date è veramente fuori luogo considerato che Vi avevamo anticipato via messaggio, su Vs richiesta di preparare o scaldare del cibo , che avevate prenotato un BB con il solo pernottamento dove normalmente non si consumano pasti in camera. Vi avevamo anche scritto che la nostra soluzione appartamento con angolo cottura era già occupata. Avete comunque consumato i Vostri pasti in camera senza che nessuno di noi Vi abbia obiettato nulla!!! Vi teniamo a precisare che non è consentito dalla legge posizionare dei forni microonde nelle camere di un BB, sia per quanto riguarda la sicurezza che per quanto concerne l’igiene. Vi suggeriamo per la prossima vacanza che andrete a programmare di prenotare un Residence/RTA o una Casa Appartamento Vacanza/CAV dove troverete tutti i servizi richiesti a Vostra disposizione. Ci dispiace, speriamo che abbiate apprezzato comunque il Vostro soggiorno ai piedi del Cervino , le informazioni sulla località che Vi abbiamo gentilmente fornito e Vi auguriamo di passare un buon anno 2024. The ground floor apartment is equipped with every comfort, from the small kitchenette with fridge, microwave and all kinds of dishes, to the bathroom equipped with soaps and hairdryer. The kitchenette is useful for preparing at least breakfast, since it is not included. The corner with the bunk bed, separated from the double bedroom, consists of two beds, one of which is unfortunately short, suitable for a child not exceeding 7/8 years (inform the manager about your child's height to make sure it's okay!), while the upper bed is regular. The double bed is in the entrance room, which also includes a sofa, table and chairs, TV. Rustic environment with a stone vaulted ceiling, but carefully detailed. Convenient location as it is located in the center of the village, for loading/unloading luggage you can briefly stop 50 m from the entrance, then you can park for free nearby. Not far away there are bars for breakfast, and shuttle stops to the ski slopes. The manager is extremely available and very "flexible" in managing arrival/departure times, etc. and can also be contacted through an internal intercom in the room.

I stayed with my child in this accommodation for two days. The owner is very kind. The room was excellent: comfortable bed, perfect cleanliness, adequate and very clean bathroom. The fact that they do not provide breakfast might seem like an issue, but at least for us having breakfast in one of the local bars was pleasant. I definitely recommend it.

I do not understand why a structure that does not include breakfast is classified as a bed and breakfast. Another negative point, the manager accepted the reservation only by adding another night. Room, welcome, and good location, high price without breakfast.

Stayed for two nights was really pleasant, a shame about the lack of breakfast for COVID safety reasons. The manager was very helpful from the start (our arrival was scheduled for 23) and gave us lots of tips on where to ski, eat at the right places, and even for future experiences!

For a short weekend snowboarding, this was the perfect accommodation for myself and a friend. It was simply furnished and decorated, but very clean, and everything worked as intended. Breakfast was a simple Italian breakfast, but there was plenty provided. It is right near a bus stop that takes 2 minutes to the main Valtournenche ski lift. Carlo was very helpful with information about the area, where to eat, etc. I would definitely use it again.

Fantastic bed and breakfast in the center of the beautiful village of Valtournenche (much nicer than Cervinia), welcoming, tastefully furnished and clean. Very convenient for reaching the ski lifts and all the shops. There were two couples in total, we slept in a room of the bed and breakfast and in a studio apartment with kitchen, very convenient for having breakfast and dining at home. The owners Elmo and Cora are very kind and helpful, ready to provide useful tips and advice. Highly recommended from every point of view!

We stayed in a warm and welcoming room, beautifully furnished in accordance with the mountain style of the entire structure which, located in the center of the small village of Valtournenche, has its own history. Everything is easily reachable on foot, including the bus stop that takes you to the lifts, which is really just a stone's throw away. The owners, Elmo and Cora, pampered us with kindness, availability, and discretion throughout the week. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for helping to make our holiday special. We had a great week in the warm care of Elmo and Cora. Clean, spacious and nicely decorated room. Great breakfast including a delicious selection of yoghurt, fresh bread, croissants, cake and beverages. We especially enjoyed the hospitality and genuine sense of service. The B&B is in the center of the cosy village, just two minutes from the surprisingly good pizzeria Big Ben. Only 1 km from the ski lifts of Valtournenche. If we return to Valtournenche, we would definitely stay here again.
