Description

Malvarosa is an independent property with a garden and parking. We purchased and restored it with passion, enthusiasm, and sacrifice, using only natural and reclaimed materials, making it truly our gem. The furnishings are also the result of a long search among family heirlooms, old trunks of fabrics yellowed by time, and precious hand-embroidered linens, without disregarding abandoned objects ready for disposal. "Sustainability" is the word that guides us in our daily choices. Each object here has its own story, and each of you can find something of your own here. I am Antonella, and I will be happy to welcome you upon arrival and guide you in discovering our territory, including typical local products that you can taste for breakfast, all produced within a 0 km radius.

The structure, located within the recently designated UNESCO World Geo Park called Maiella Geo Park, seems almost overshadowed by the majestic beauty of the Abbey of Santo Spirito al Morrone and irresistibly attracted to the oasis of peace and spirituality of the Hermitage of Sant'Onofrio, which was named a "Place of the Heart" in the FAI 2020 special ranking. The extraordinary viewpoint of the temple of Hercules Curino, right at the foot of the Hermitage, dominates the entire Peligna Valley and Campo 78, a prisoner-of-war camp in both world wars. This is the exact starting point of the Celestino Path. Malvarosa is 5km away from the splendid city of Sulmona, known for its precious and ancient production of confetti. Easily accessible are the slopes of the Alto Sangro-Roccaraso/Rivisondoli ski area.

Beautiful, lovingly run B&B. Antonella always tries to fulfill every wish. The rooms are lovingly furnished, clean and are cleaned every day. Breakfast is typically Italian, but on request you can also get savory options. She always has tips on what to do, and communication is in Italian or English. The B&B is located in a district of Sulmona, directly on the Sentiero Celestino, and it takes 5 minutes by car to get to the town.

We started the classic Celestino Path from here (ideal location). The owner welcomed us wonderfully, giving us information to have a pleasant evening at the nearby village festival as well as for the start of our adventure! Highly recommended!

Delightful, well-kept structure with comfortable spaces available for guests. It's a pity I only spent one night there and had to leave very early, due to work commitments, without being able to enjoy breakfast. The very kind manager, Ms. Antonella, provided me with a ticket for the bar, but hers was certainly better! The location is just outside the city center, but for my needs it was absolutely suitable. I will return!

We had a wonderful time! Antonella has a truly classic conception of the B&B, and her welcome is warm and full of many beautiful things. The structure is very beautiful, in a very quiet area just outside Sulmona. We really liked the concept of recycling and reusing that exists in the B&B, all the result of Antonella's hands. The breakfast is excellent and plentiful. We had a wonderful time and we will recommend it!

We booked four nights in this property, which is away from traffic and very quiet. In five minutes by car, you can reach the center of Sulmona. The room with bathroom is very spacious, equipped with everything necessary and very clean. The breakfast includes savory products and sweets, and there are always homemade sweets and cookies. Ms. Antonella is very helpful and ready to provide tourist information for visiting the region, as well as to give advice on restaurants. A place to keep and recommend.

Elegance, cleanliness and impeccable overall management by Antonella. A small but welcoming structure where furniture, breakfast and serenity provide a backdrop to an artistic and free spirit. Nutritious breakfast with zero-kilometer ingredients, all natural. Highly recommended for a stay in magnificent Abruzzo.

Antonella, the owner of the property was splendid: she welcomed us warmly and provided all the necessary information for our journey. The property is beautiful, clean as well as the room. Nearby there is a restaurant, a bar, and a small grocery store useful for those who need to make sandwiches before the journey. The B&B is right at the beginning of the Celestino's Way. Definitely a delightful place in its entirety, cared for with passion and love. It is visible in every small object that the owner is rightfully in love with this place and conveys all of this. Pity for me to have arrived there for a work commitment and therefore not being able to enjoy the location more.

Excellent 'countryside' structure ideal for those who have to start the Celestino walk. The lady knows the area perfectly and is an inexhaustible source of useful information about the paths and the Sulmona area. Fantastic breakfast. Highly recommended.

First time in Abruzzo and pleasantly impressed by this land. The MalvarosaB&B is the best we could expect: clean, spacious room, with a bathroom more than adequate for our needs. Excellent breakfast, abundant and of quality. But what makes the difference is definitely the courtesy, availability, and friendliness of Antonella! During our conversations, we discovered that we have many things in common and it was a real pleasure to talk to her. Overall judgment: "more than expected". Thank you for everything and for what has remained in our hearts and that few words cannot describe. Hope to see you again soon, maybe on the "Cammino di Celestino".

We had the most wonderful stay at Malvarosa B&B and highly recommend staying here. The room was incredibly clean and well presented, the bed comfortable and the breakfast provided each day was superb. The room was private and quiet as the residence is down a short driveway off the Main Street. The location is wonderful and both the Hermitage of Sant'Onofrio al Morrone and Abbazia di Santo Spirito del Morrone are within walking distance. Antonella was the ultimate host and made us feel like part of the family. We cannot recommend staying here enough. Five stars!

Strategic location as a starting point for walks. Very clean structure and super helpful host (she came to pick me up at the village train station and left me a breakfast voucher at the nearby bar as I couldn't use the one provided in the structure). Really recommended.

Antonella is a very nice, welcoming, and generous person. She helped us when we had a mishap, always gave us great advice on where to eat and what to visit and explore in the area. The breakfast served in a delightful patio is excellent and plentiful, with fresh and genuine products. The well-kept garden is enjoyable both during the day and in the evening. The mountains in the background make it a peaceful corner that promotes rest, away from the noises of the town. Recommended!

Everything ok except for some difficulty in finding the MalvarosaB&B, even though I had the civic number, because it is located at the end of a very narrow alley, without signs, on the main road. The owner then kindly helped us find, after a few attempts, a restaurant for dinner which turned out to be excellent.

Our hosts Antonella and Enzo were very welcoming and quickly made us feel at home and part of the family. They went out of their way to meet our needs and were knowledgeable and informative about the surrounding area and events. The breakfasts were delicious, with a wide selection of offerings including garden fresh fruits and vegetables. The MalvarosaB&B is in a peaceful bucolic setting and beautifully decorated. We wished we could have stayed longer and hope to come back for another visit.
