Description

Cozy, comfortable independent house, with hot water, heating and thermal fireplace which provides heating for all rooms, endued with a multi-functional room with wood oven. On the low ground are a small kitchen, a living room and a multifunctional room; on the first floor are 2 double bedrooms (one of which has a small terrace), a single bed room and 2 bathrooms. The house is situated at the centre of a small mountain village, around 800 m above sea level, in the "Gran Sasso Monti della Laga" National Park near the Gran Sasso mountain and ski-lifts in Prati di Tivo.

The village lies close to the highest mountain of central Italy and people love it for its wonderful and striking places ("Calderone" on Gran Sasso Mountain is the southernmost glacier in Europe). It also is the ideal place for people who want practice sports (skiing, rock climbing, horse riding, trekking) and for those who love to relax surrounded by the green forest, where it is possible to gather mushrooms and soft fruits in conformity to local laws and regulations. Even if the house is in the mountains, it is also possible to spend time at the beach, which is only about 50 km (1 hour by car) away.

Pets are accepted if they are not dangerous and don't damage the furniture.

My name is Roberto, and together with my daughter Diletta, we manage this small accommodation facility because we have a desire to meet and discover new and different people and new and different ways of thinking and sharing our passion for the mountains and the emotions that hiking and adventures in landscapes of suggestive beauty and often untouched nature give to us and our guests.

The bond that each of us has with our origins is well known, and our connection with the Gran Sasso mountains is truly special, not only because they represent our roots, but also because of the intensity and quantity of emotions that this corner of the world offers to us and our guests, with whom we often share the passion and experiences.

Each new guest represents for us the possibility of meeting different people and embarking on a new adventure, sometimes even literally, as we go on excursions together with them.

Thanks to the natural richness of these mountains, we also have a lot to tell and share. The fact that the Gran Sasso area is located in a climatic zone between the temperate north and the warmer south adds to the territory a greater biodiversity, both for flora and fauna. In protected areas like the ancient forest of "Fonte Novello," where human intervention in logging has been absent for centuries (since 1600), you can admire centuries-old beech trees of remarkable size.

The rest is just a list of wonderful places to discover through excursions, both in the middle and high mountains, until reaching the western summit of Corno Grande at 2912 meters, with breathtaking panoramic views. The rest is just a list of events and passions: mycology and the richness of fungal species, wild berries, chestnuts, and the traditional autumn festival dedicated to this fruit in the entire village, the Climbing Festival in Pietracamela, and the numerous local initiatives linked to holidays and traditions that turn into banquets where locals and tourists come together to enjoy the numerous local culinary recipes. The rest is love and passion for living in the mountains.

Very nice place, in an extremely calm village in between great walking spots such as Prato di Tivo and Prato Selva. Clean rooms and bathrooms. The house is a bit difficult to find in between other houses, but just give a call to Roberto who immediately reacts. Roberto is always ready to help, to tell stories from the mountains, etc. Thanks for the great time we had in this wonderful region!

The structure is a delightful stone house in the village of Interemsoli near Prati di Tivo. Spartan house but with everything necessary, and if something is missing, surely Roberto, the manager, is able to provide it. He is the real revelation, knowledgeable about all excursions, climbs, walks in the woods, a very nice person with great culture. We felt at home with a friend. Highly recommended!

Very friendly, attentive, and interested host, who even speaks English. Welcomed us with a plate of Pecorino, reserved for us at the restaurant, and conjured up a wonderful breakfast. Structure located in a small, quiet village, but a short distance from the Prati di Tivo and therefore suitable for excursions on the Gran Sasso. The manager is very kind and can recommend walks and climbs according to the guests' abilities and interests. The kitchen is also available for those who, like us, do not like to go out in the evening, however, unlike the rooms, it is not very well maintained: too much disorder and not very clean. If you want to cook, it should be noted that there are no grocery stores (not even a bakery) in the area within a short distance, so it is advisable to stock up in advance. We had a great time and do not rule out returning.

Spero di portare avanti le mie iniziative in maniera tale da rendere la mia struttura sempre più godibile e all'altezza delle aspettative dei miei ospiti. Magnificent weekend, beautiful little village with a splendid view over the valley in front of Gran Sasso. In fifteen minutes by car you can reach Prati di Tivo, a place where you are immersed in mountain nature. For any activity you want to practice, just ask Roberto, the owner of the property. As for the accommodation, we found excellent cleanliness in the room and bathroom. The breakfast was varied and plentiful, to please all palates. Greetings to Roberto, friendly and helpful, we will definitely come back!

A comfortable and well-kept house in a village that seems fake, at the foot of Gran Sasso. We stopped here after a long journey, before starting the mountain hike. Difficult to find better. Roberto is of a unique kindness and availability. He tries not to let you miss anything and knows those places like his jackets: he recommends the most appropriate itineraries with an enthusiasm that makes you want to stay an extra week. I had never been to Gran Sasso before, despite loving trekking and the mountains. The experience was magnificent from every point of view, needless to say about the beauty of the places. It is instead necessary to talk about the kindness and cordiality of Mr. Roberto, I have never found a manager so attentive and helpful, even using his own means, to satisfy customers (the morning of the climb to Gran Sasso he would have lent me his windbreaker as I had forgotten mine in Rome!). The house is large, clean and equipped with everything necessary to spend holidays in the comfortable tranquility of the mountains. Abundant and varied breakfast. Despite hundreds of kilometers away, you will feel at home. Thank you Roberto, I will definitely come back for the autumn!

Good morning, I wish to express all my gratitude to Mr. Roberto, manager of La Fontana, for his infinite kindness and availability; he waited for our arrival despite our strong delay, he booked a restaurant for us that would allow us to have dinner at 10 pm (quite unusual for those areas) and lent a pair of trekking boots to my husband for the climb to Gran Sasso the next day. The property is clean, welcoming, and equipped with all the comforts with blankets and linens aplenty in a context of absolute tranquility that characterizes the little village of Intermesoli. Breakfast was plentiful with a lot of choices. Even our children enjoyed themselves and we will definitely return to the B&B if we were to go back to that area.

The only drawback - it cannot be reached by public transportation, only by car, but this limitation turned into a big plus for the manager, whose son kindly gave us a long ride. Roberto also provided detailed instructions on how to get there by bus from Rome to Teramo. For the rest, it was a fabulous weekend: time spent in front of the beautiful thermal fireplace while it was raining, mountain walks when the weather cleared up, immersed in untouched nature, free-roaming ponies in the village, chamois in the woods, excellent local cuisine at the nearby restaurant, rich breakfast with various teas and great coffee, a kitchen equipped with everything and more if you want to cook, a dining room with the actual rock on which the house was built... Roberto shows great pride and knowledge of the area, and that is commendable. Thank you very much again and I really hope to return!

The structure is located in a small mountain village, in a relaxed, quiet, discreet setting that is easy to reach at the same time. The house furniture is dated but impeccably maintained so that, upon entering, you have the pleasant sensation of having gone back a couple of decades. We found the room, the bathroom, and the common areas perfectly tidy and clean. Good, plentiful, and varied breakfast choices. Roberto, the manager, is friendly, helpful, and devoted to his land, essential qualities for working seriously in tourism. He managed to give us all the necessary tips for our excursion to Gran Sasso and, in general, he really made us experience the legendary hospitality of Abruzzo. Recommended for those who are not simply looking for a stay but a complete experience made of nature and pleasant human relationships. We will definitely come back.

We would like to thank Roberto for the meticulous and warm hospitality. The house is in some parts perhaps a bit too rustic (I refer to the tavern, but it is part of the historical charm of the house) but overall it is beautiful, has a very interesting history and you can see that the manager has an incredible love for his mountains and for the house, and it shows. The area is not far from Prati di Tivo and is an excellent base.
