Breakfast
Restaurant
In the heart of Palombaro, at the foot of the Majella National Park, Trattoria Dal Pagano has been passionately preserving the culinary traditions of Abruzzo since 1987. The cuisine is deeply rooted in the local area, featuring carefully selected ingredients: high-quality flours for fragrant bread and excellent pasta, ancient grains such as barley, spelt, and Solina wheat grown nearby, as well as seasonal vegetables from the family garden.
The cured meats are made in-house, while the meats come from local farmers who share a deep love for the land. The menu honors tradition with signature dishes like “Le Vrache di Mulo,” which is the highlight of a special event held every August, and the famous grilled dishes. There are also refined options such as flavored trout and cod, along with game dishes like deer with porcini mushrooms and roe deer cooked with Montepulciano wine.
Desserts, made according to old family recipes, finish off every meal with a taste of authentic nostalgia. Although the wine cellar is small, it offers a selection of Abruzzese wines that pair perfectly with each dish. For a tailored experience, it is recommended to make a reservation a few days in advance.

Area
A lush green area at the foot of the Majella offers a breathtaking view that stretches from Lake Sant'Angelo and the Avello Valley to the delicate blue line of the Adriatic Sea, just a 30-minute drive away.
There are many places to explore within a short distance, such as Balzolo in Pennapiedimonte, the Cavallone Cave in Lama dei Peligni, the Gorges of Fara San Martino, Grotta Sant'Angelo in Palombaro, and the lake in Casoli. Slightly farther afield are Juvanum, the Roman ruins in Torricella, the Old Town in Gessopalena (the village of gypsum), and the Costa dei Trabocchi in San Vito and Fossacesia—all about a 25 to 30-minute drive. With just a few more minutes, you can reach Roccaraso or Passolaciano, high mountain areas where nature embraces and nurtures us.

Great breakfast, beautiful view, independence for access times to the room, excellent friendliness of the manager. Unfortunately, in the evening there is some noise due to the restaurant above (we were there on Saturday), but after 23 everything becomes quiet. You need a car to get to the town.
