Could you recommend sites and monuments that tourists should visit in the town of Sperlonga.

Sperlonga (LT), National Archeological Museum and “Tiberio Villa"
The “Villa of the Emperor” and “The Odissey of Marble” wich adorns the suggestive cave, is a scenary of extraordinary landscape interest.

Could you recommend less renowned places, in the town of Sperlonga and in its surroundings?

Terracina (LT) Old Town and Civic Archeological Museum.
From the roman theatre to the “capitolium”, from the Appian Way to the Traiano Arc, from the Cathedral to the medieval houses still intact: every corner of the town holds part of an era wich ceases to exist. A worthwhile visit to the civic museum where mosaics from the “Domus” of ancient Terracina and the “Giove Anxur Temple” are exposed.

Pastena CAVES (FR)
The Pastena caves, discovered in 1926, are rated among the major spekology complex’s of our peninsula. Between underground lakes, stalactites, stalagmites wich form suggestive sculptures, an itinerary in the heart of the earth, amongst majest and mystery.

Gaeta (LT), Mount Orlando and the Sanctuary of the Split Mountain
From the top of Mount Orlando, rises the famous mausoleum of Munazio Planco. The sanctuary stands on the cleft of a rock wich reaches the “Cave of Turco”, created, according to legends, to the death of Christ, when the veil of the Temple of Gerusalem was shattered.

Fossanova ABBEY (LT), Medieval Museal
Before the settlement of the Cistercian monks, the Benedictines leved here. Later on, around the year one thousand, the monastery was subject to renovations which to this day are present and renovations which to this day are present and well-conserved, the three romantic sides of the cloister. The medieval museum holds ceramics and architectural elements with origins from various areas of the territory.

CIRCEO NATIONAL PARK, VILLA DOMIZIANO (LT)

SERMONETA (LT), Old Town
It rises on a hill of 257 meters above the level of the sea, dominates the Plains of Pontina, and is one of the medieval villages best conserved in Italy. Its fortunes begin at the end of the XIII century, when the seigniory of the Caetani family begins. They built an impressive castle where distinguished sovereigns and pontiffs would reside.

NINFA NATURAL GARDENS (LT)
The Ninfa Gardens were declared Natural Monument of the Lazio Region in 2000 to safeguard the historical gardens of international fame. A habitat made up of the Ninfa river, with its glassy mirror and the surrounding areas which form a natural protective frame of the entire complex.

“PIANA DELLE ORME” MUSEUM (LT)
Piana delle Orme is a historical theme park realized to display one of the biggest and heterogenous collections in the world: airplanes, tanks, locomotives, handcarts, radios, weapons, tundre of military vehicles, agricultural tractors, threshing machines, streetcars and buses, utensil and thousands of objects. Dedicated to the 20th century, the museum complex represents a trip through fifty years of Italian history.

CAMPODIMELE (LT), Old Town
The medieval village still holds its charm intact. Campodimele holds the title for the longevity of its habitants, across generations. Destination of inspiration for artists and writers.

ITRI (LT), Old Town
The Medieval castle, the harbor and the towers, the church of San Michele and the view of the modern city in the center of a historical and culinary itinerary: the well-knows “Gaeta olives” is produced on this territory.

Ventotene (LT)
Little over 2 km of volcanic grounds, with a history of 2000 years, with the profile of a whale, surrounded by the sea and spotted with the colours of the low-rise houses.
Ventotene is a gift of emotions and offers a different expression, with every season, of what a Mediterranean island represents.

Ponza (LT)
Ponza is the largest of the Italian pontine islands archipelago, located 33 km south of Cape Circeo in the Tyrrhenian sea.
It is an amazing island to see thanks to its wonderful sea. To visit the island, would be better to rent a small boat and sail around it, so you can visit its beautiful beaches and coves like “Chiaia di Luna”, “Cala Feola”, “Cala Fonte”, “Grotte di Pilato”etc.
