Description
The authentic Florentine spirit of this cozy apartment and its terrace overlooking the city will be the first step in making your stay unforgettable. Enjoy touching the monuments of Florence from above, while sipping an aperitif at sunset, or sit under the pergola for breakfast while watching the city wake up in the early morning.
The apartment is located on the top floor of a nineteenth-century building overlooking the ancient city walls. It is on the outer border of the limited traffic zone and is about a five-minute walk from the Boboli Gardens and fifteen minutes from Ponte Vecchio and Santo Spirito.
It is cozy, intimate, and elegant and.. is not for everyone. In fact, there are one hundred steps that separate this refuge on the rooftops of Florence from the lively Porta Romana neighborhood. This small effort will be generously rewarded by the stunning view you can enjoy from the large terrace.
The outdoor space has a large table for comfortable outdoor dining and a cozy lounge with waterproof cushions. The space is perfectly livable even at night thanks to a versatile lighting system.
The apartment is very bright, quiet, and furnished with antique furniture in Tuscan style.
The two bedrooms are double, one of which can be set up on request with two single beds. They are spacious and equipped with air conditioning. The beds have slatted frames, ergonomic mattresses and pillows, and high-quality linens to guarantee you the best rest at the end of intense days that the beauty of the city imposes on visitors.
There is only one bathroom, but it has both a bathtub and a shower, as well as a window and comfortably serves both bedrooms.
A spacious and perfectly equipped kitchen will allow you to prepare a tasty dinner with ingredients purchased from the various historic shops in the neighborhood.
Next to the kitchen, opening the doors of a finely decorated cabinet, you will find a small laundry room for any eventuality.
For your moments of relaxation at home, you can enjoy a large double living room where you can sit and watch your favorite series on the smart TV, read a book, or listen to music. Or to enjoy a good meal at the dining table.
Upstairs, an attic, decorated by a Florentine artist as a small tropical forest, offers the possibility of an extra bed or simply a corner of privacy from the rest of the house.
Please note that the apartment is on the fourth floor without an elevator. The stairs are wide and not steep. However, where necessary, a paid luggage transport service can be arranged at the time of booking.

Ciao! My name is Ludovica and I’ve been living in Florence since…forever. I love gardens, cooking, walking in the nature, every single sea of the world, my motorcycle and my dog.
During my travels I enjoyed being hosted in real houses more than in hotels and now, that I have a place of my own, I decided to return the favour and become an host myself.
I would like my home to become your ‘confort zone’ in a city that asks to be explored and tasted and enjoyed and admired in every moment of the day and in every season of the year!
I’ ll be more than happy to share with you info and tips about the more authentic reastaurants, bars and shops in the area or the less beaten routes to stroll around.
I live nearby and I am always available to resolve any issue and to ensure you have a great stay!

The apartment is located in the lively neighbourhood of Porta Romana and can be reached by public transports or by car as it is outside of the ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone). There are parking slots along the nearby streets and a fee is due from 8 am to 8 pm. The neighbourhood still keeps its authentic soul and offers all the services you will need: it’s easy to feel immediately ‘at home’.
Despite its closeness to Oltrarno, the area offers some quietness as the buildings become less frequent and more country-like open spaces emerge. The location is perfect to start exploring not only the most known itineraries, but also the ones away from the city centre hustle. Heading towards the hills of Arcetri, Marignolle and Bellosguardo, you will be enchanted by the lush greenery and by the aristocratic villas that line this route which will offer you the most romantic and scenic corners of the city.
