Description
Nestled in the peaceful Stura Valley, Antica Dimora Vaudano welcomes its guests to a residence steeped in history, where the charm of the past blends seamlessly with modern comfort. The name Barcia comes from an ancient Alpine term meaning "barn and refuge," a place that over the centuries has hosted travelers, protected the lands of the Duchy of Saluzzo, and provided shelter during the events of the Resistance. Today, following a careful restoration, the estate has regained its original purpose, presenting itself as a tranquil oasis at the foot of the Maritime Alps.

The property features two independent apartments, perfect for families and groups of friends seeking relaxation and nature. Each accommodation includes a bright living area with a lounge and a fully equipped kitchen, a master bedroom, a second bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a comfortable sofa bed in the living room, offering spacious and practical living spaces.

Outdoor areas include a balcony or terrace overlooking the large garden and shared courtyard, ideal for unwinding outdoors while enjoying views of the Maritime Alps. Pets are welcome, provided they are kept on a leash and respect shared spaces.

For larger groups, it is possible to book both apartments, accommodating 8-10 people in total, making it an ideal choice for group holidays, family stays, or small parties wishing to share an authentic experience in the heart of the mountains.

Area
The village of Barcia is nestled in the lush greenery of the Stura Valley, just a few minutes from Demonte, in a peaceful setting surrounded by the scenic landscapes of the Maritime Alps. It is an ideal spot for those looking to reconnect with nature, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and enjoy a stay away from traffic, while still having easy access to the main local amenities.

Demonte is about 3 km away and offers shops, restaurants, and everything needed for daily necessities. Approximately 30 kilometers away lies Cuneo, an elegant Piedmontese city known for its historic center, extensive arcades, charming squares, and rich culinary traditions. The proximity to the French border, reachable in around 35 km, also allows for pleasant excursions across alpine landscapes and destinations beyond the border.

The area is especially popular among outdoor enthusiasts. Trails winding through forests, valleys, and mountainous terrain invite leisurely walks and scenic hikes, while mountain biking routes and horseback riding trails provide dynamic and captivating ways to explore the region. The Stura River offers opportunities for rafting, and the artificial Balboa Lake is a delightful spot for peaceful moments surrounded by nature.

The location also provides access to the Maritime Alps Natural Park, a protected area of great scenic and ecological value, characterized by mountains, lakes, forests, and a diverse range of flora and fauna. Barcia is therefore an excellent starting point to discover the Stura Valley, the Cuneo area, and nearby France, allowing visitors to alternate between days filled with sports, culture, and gastronomy, and moments of genuine relaxation in nature.
