Our farmhouse is located in the hills at an altitude of 700 meters above Castelveccana. History tells us that before 1928, when the road along Lake Maggiore was built, anyone who needed to travel from Valtravaglia to cities like Varese or Milan, for trade or other reasons, had to pass through "Passo di S. Antonio", the only connection to other roads that linked Valtravaglia to Valcuvia (and vice versa). Therefore, in the 1800s, a resting point was established for travelers and pilgrims, offering shelter for the night and a warm meal. Over time, the farmhouse also became "Albergo S. Antonio" in the early 1900s, and later transformed into an inn with rooms and restaurant service. In the years to come, it was used solely as a family-run restaurant. In 2003, my family took over the business and the house, and we restored the hospitality service, using part of the structure as a B&B. Since then, we have hosted people from all over the world, enriching our humanity through cultural exchange. In 2015, we decided to dedicate ourselves exclusively to hospitality. Here, you can rediscover a simplicity of life connected to the rhythms of time and nature. Our house, completely surrounded by greenwoods, preserves the simplicity of the original structure while offering all the modern comforts. Our passion for nature is also reflected in our daily lives, as we have chosen to "save" many of our animals from cruel destinies. Our four-legged friends include dogs, cats, a donkey, and a goat. By choice, we use local or homegrown products, we are mindful of waste by using energy-saving lamps and water flow reducers, and the house is powered by renewable energy sources. We do not use disposable or plastic products. Our house is suitable for nature and animal lovers, music lovers, and those seeking tranquility and self-discovery. The adjacent chapel will be a source of inspiration. IMPORTANT: We have several cats and two very friendly dogs that roam freely on the property, so our house is NOT suitable for those who are afraid of dogs or allergic to cats.
