Lake Turano

The enormous hydroelectric reservoir was built on the river of the same name with a dam created in 1939. Lake Turano is connected to Lake Salto by a tunnel of a few kilometres. At either end of the lake, two facing hillocks are home to the lovely towns of Colle di Tora and Castel di Tora, of Sabine-Roman origins.
