We are a guest house located in Rome - Via Merulana 117 SOLE E LUNA Guest House is on the fourth floor of an ancient building, between the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and Piazza San Giovanni. Our rooms have all a private bathroom, and in your room you find air conditioning, cooling fan, hairdryer, fridge, tv and safe box. The location is perfect to reach the most important places in Rome on foot or by public transport We are 10 minutes walking from the Colosseo and Termini station, 200 meters from the main line metro station Manzoni and 20 meters from bus stops. The street offersseveral bars, trattoria specializing in typical Roman cuisine, restaurants with Italian cuisine as well as international cuisine and many other shops. The sympathy and friendliness from the staff never fail!! Upon your arrival you will receive a map of the center and all the information you need. Now you just have to book ! We hope to see you soon in our eternal city!

The owner Simone was very helpful: he gave us a map on the first day and highlighted the main attractions. He was easy to reach when we asked for information and responded quickly. One day, he showed us where the supermarket was on the street. He gave us recommendations for restaurants. He provided croissants, juice and coffee pods. It was possible to get water from a machine in the kitchenette. Tea was provided there; a coffee machine as well; cups and small plates; a microwave; and a fridge to keep things. Thank you very much, Simone.

The courtesy and availability were excellent, unfortunately the bathroom was so small that you couldn't turn around. The room was very different from the photos on the site. The cleanliness definitely needs to be improved, especially in the bathroom where, even after pointing out the problem with images, it has not been completely resolved.

We stayed a few days ago and we found ourselves very well, a stone's throw from the Colosseum. The manager Simone is very kind and very helpful. The place is in a quiet area full of shops and restaurants. We will definitely return.

We stayed at Sole e Luna Guest House at the end of September and had a very positive experience. The location is one of its greatest strengths: it is close to the Roma Termini train station and the metro, which made our travel within the city and catching trains to other destinations very convenient. The host, Giordano, was extremely welcoming. He allowed us to check in early, which was very convenient. Additionally, he provided excellent guidance on transportation, places to eat, and tips for getting around Rome, which made a significant difference during our stay. Although breakfast is not offered, the guest house has a well-equipped communal kitchen. In our room, they left a basic breakfast kit with juice, a coffee capsule, and a croissant, which was a great solution. The building is old but well renovated. The elevator, although narrow, works perfectly. The room we stayed in was spacious, with simple yet functional decor. We really appreciated the quality of the Wi-Fi and the large Smart TV, which was of great quality. A special highlight is Giordano’s friendliness. He made us feel very comfortable and was always available via WhatsApp to answer any questions we had, even outside the guest house’s operating hours. Without a doubt, we would stay here again when we return to Rome.

Perfect stay! The room is very well located, 10 minutes on foot from the Colosseum. Room and bathroom are very clean. The owner is very helpful, we can send him messages if we have questions, he responds quickly. I highly recommend it.

Great location, very friendly and responsive staff. Very basic accommodation (no breakfast) that works well if you are only using it to sleep and recharge for being out all day. Be aware that the shower has less than 5 minutes of hot water.

Hi there,\n\nWe had a great experience and an awesome stay with the team at Sole e Luna. Giordano went above and beyond as a host throughout our stay. During check-in we were able to leave our luggage with our host while the room was ready for an early check-in. Giordano provided personalized recommendations for activities and restaurants within Rome. During our stay, the rooms were cleaned daily with a new fresh set of towels each time. The location of Sole E Luna is centralized with quick access to Mazoni A train and Roma Termini station. Overall our experience was pleasant and look forward to staying here next time we're in Rome!

We didn’t book any breakfast, but upon arrival, we still received a small complimentary breakfast! Coffee is complimentary and so is water. The fridge/ice tray is also available (has to be shared with other people but there is always some space). The room itself is small but still perfect because you spend most of the time in the city. The bathroom is good. The metro station is very close (5 minutes walking) and the Colosseum is also close (10 minutes walking). Supermarkets and restaurants of every specific food type are right around the corner. The B&B owner is very helpful in showing every important spot on a map, leaving the luggage at the reception after checkout is perfect. You will receive some new keys to pick them up by yourself. Would recommend this B&B to everyone who is spending a weekend or a full week in Rome. 10/10!

Excellent value for money. Strategic location for moving around both on foot and by public transport. Buses and Metro very close. Breakfast not included, but we found a coffee machine and a water dispenser. In the room, a small breakfast with croissants and fruit juices. The manager was very helpful. We didn't miss anything.

This place is a hidden gem. I travel with my wife and 2 young daughters and for me cleanliness is very important. I check the cleanliness of rooms with a high-powered flashlight. The nice lady that cleans does impeccable work. I found the room to be on par with Marriott in the states in terms of cleanliness. Simone and Giordano are wonderful hosts. Friendly, responsive, helpful with tips on where to visit and getting your needs taken care of like sim card places, metro, etc...\nI would definitely return and recommend to coworkers, friends, and family. Rating 10+ and I rarely give such a good rating.\nP.S. There was no option in this review for "breakfast not included" so I selected "not provided". Even though not expected, they provided individually wrapped sweet bread, coffee pods, and juices. Very generous.

The Fratelli Simone and Giordano really take care of the property hands on and go out of their way to help guests. Located ideally for us within walking distance from both Termini Rail Station and all the attractions, Domus Aurea, Colosseum, Forums. We did not even need to take the Metro which is also next blocks. Clean neighborhood, nice safe avenue, walking distance yet far enough from Termini to be pleasant, low road noise, room soundproof so we rested well. AC cold and silent for a good night rest. Everything just worked. Best value for the price. I did my homework for this one property and it matched my research.

Excellent stay at the Sole e Luna. My original accommodation let me down so this was booked around 4 weeks before we were due to arrive. The host Simone checked us in late in the evening after flight delays. Room was clean, beds comfy and in a pretty good location. Juice and croissants were replaced daily, this was unexpected but very much appreciated. The hotel was 15 minutes walk away from the colosseum. Only twice we needed taxis to be in the Vatican area early in the morning. Lots of nearby cafes and restaurants. Would highly recommend this place for those on a budget.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Sole e Luna Guest House during my trip to Rome and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The room was clean, the bed and pillows were a real relief after a day of walking almost 20 km. The owners, Mr. Giordano and Simone, are exceptional people: kind, caring, and always available to help. Every day they offered us a small breakfast, not included in the price, which was a really thoughtful touch. Furthermore, the location of the guest house is great, really close to the center of Rome. We were able to visit all the historical attractions on foot, except for the Vatican, for which we took the metro. The area is surrounded by exceptional restaurants offering delicious Italian cuisine. The host was welcoming and gave us advice and a map of the sites. I advise requesting his favorites in advance as a few needed prior booking. In addition, he promptly answered questions by text, which was invaluable! The room was clean and great: nice bathroom/shower, air conditioning, closet, mini-fridge. Charming little elevator/lift. Near Metro and bus stops, and we walked from Roma Termini. No breakfast included, but there were a couple of snack gifts. We went to the supermarket, loved the recommended Gelateria Fassi nearby, and discovered that the salumeria L'Artigiano Del Suino also has delicious takeout! I would recommend Sole e Luna, and I would definitely return. I wish we could have stayed more than four nights. Thank you, Giordano!

The accommodation is 10 minutes from the Colosseum, with a metro station and buses nearby. They clean every day and provide gel bags, there is a small complimentary breakfast (they inform that it is not included) so do not expect anything. In the reception there is a coffee machine and free water. The room has a safe, air conditioning, and a fridge. Firm mattresses. Water with pressure and hot in the shower. The quality/price ratio is 10. It is in a typical Italian building with an inner courtyard, two rooms are external and two face the courtyard. Ours was external and with closed windows we had no noise problems. Perhaps a coat of paint and modernizing the bathroom furniture could improve. Overall, everything very correct and good service.

We stayed at Sole e Luna for 2 nights. Simone was very kind and helpful with our requests. The cleanliness is excellent, as well as the location. The Colosseum is about 850 meters away and the metro is 350 meters away. The bus stop is right under the hotel. We highly recommend it for those who love simplicity and convenience.

Very well located establishment between Termini Station and the Colosseum. Metro, shops, and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Comfortable room, of good size and very clean. Everything was excellent! Firstly, the location was the biggest plus, being just 450 meters from the Manzoni metro station and within walking distance of the Colosseo. The room was given to us in a very clean condition and equipped with a nice air conditioning system. The housekeeping staff provided daily service throughout our stay. Both hosts, Giordano and Simone, were super friendly and helpful. Giordano gave us a great overview of the area and recommended good eateries and locations. He was also kind enough to store our bags for extra days. We had a wonderful time during our stay and will definitely visit again when we're back in Rome.

First of all, the manager, Simone, greeted us beautifully upon our arrival. We stayed for a week and they changed the sheets for us 2 times, the room was very clean. Every morning they left us pastries and we had a coffee machine or water available at any time of the day. Then the perfect location, we were 10-15 minutes walk from the Colosseum and otherwise 5 minutes from the metro or bus stop. So overall, everything was perfect. If I were to return to Rome, I would stay there again.

Located inside an elegant condominium, in a quiet area, the structure is excellent for short stays, clean, welcoming, and very convenient to move from the station to the city center to visit the city. Although the reception was not open all the time, they allowed us to store our luggage even after check-out, until departure. There were some snacks in the room.

Simone, the manager, is very kind and helpful. He can advise you on everything. The location of the property is strategic to reach any place, convenient to the bus stop, trains, and metro, as well as to get to the Fori Imperiali area in a maximum of 10 minutes on foot. Excellent availability.

The owner Simone is a very kind person, who takes care of every detail and aspect of the stay and has taken great care of hospitality and welcome. He also provided a small breakfast every day, not expected, along with the coffee machine available in the room. On New Year's Eve, he also delivered a bottle of sparkling wine. The strength of this B&B is definitely the location: with a walk you can access all the metro lines, the train station, the Colosseum; there are also several buses passing right in the street. The room is clean and comfortable. Simone, the manager, is very friendly and helpful.

A 2 steps from the Colosseum, also reachable on foot from Termini Station. The property is in a quiet and very central area, but equally very quiet at night. We stayed for 2 nights at this B&B and although breakfast was not included, the owner Simone, super kind, helpful and easy-going, provided us with coffee pods, milk, juices and croissants... Impeccable cleanliness, room equipped with all comforts. Highly recommended for those who want to spend a few days in Rome, visiting it quietly on foot or by bus with the stop just a few steps from the building. We will definitely return!

Nice place to stay in a calm area. The host was nice and met at the requested time. The room was sufficient for our needs. The air conditioner unit was functional however it was quite noisy, an old model. The television only had one channel. Overall, good experience, considering price to quality.

Beautiful experience! We stayed two nights in the summer. Cool location, 10/10 hospitality, close to the Colosseum but still 5 minutes away from Manzoni metro if you prefer. Highly recommended!

Great place near the center of Rome. Very peaceful center and equipped with all comforts, you sleep very well (and I usually have difficulty sleeping away from home). Very kind and friendly manager. I would definitely come back, if I were in the area.
