Description
We have 3 lovely bedroom named "La Vecchia Stalla", "L’Antico Fienile" and "Il Granaio", all of them tastefully furnished according to the grandmother's finesse, with great attention to details. Together with the atmosphere of langsyne, we offer all possible comforts: air conditioning, television, hair dryer.
Each room has its own entrance, private bathroom with shower and a well-appointed kitchen for breakfast. "L’Antico Fienile" bedroom is fitted with a sofa-bed, ideal for a family.
Every morning, we serve a sumptuous homemade breakfast with organic and local craft products.
Following principles of environmental sustainability and energy conservation, we generate heating, hot water and electricity from sunlight. We use ecological detergents, natural soaps, cotton linens.
A large shared kitchen with fireplace and barbecue is available for our customers. Outside a garden surrounded by olive and fruit trees, allows in absolute silence, to enjoy the surrounding nature and a complete relax in front of the sunset. We have a private car parking area inside the garden.
In our B&B you will be able to find a trace of the past emotions. You will be surrounded by the scents of ancient times and by the pleasant sensation of natural fabrics. In winter, you will be welcome by the warmth of a lit fireplace and you will taste the typical cookies that only grandmothers knew how to prepare.

Hey from Giulia
Our house is the one where my great-grandmother used to live (hence the name "La casa della Nonna"). The time and determination of my husband have transformed it into a pleasant and sober place that we want to share with those who seek simplicity and authenticity in their journey. Leave the present behind and let yourself be enveloped by the lost atmospheres. This is our motto, which reflects the desire to return to the past, with its slow rhythms marked by the colors, sounds, and scents of nature; just enough to project ourselves into the future with different and more respectful eyes towards everything that we often do not appreciate.
Our aim is to promote responsible tourism, providing a welcoming and attentive experience, especially focused on the traditions and culture of the region, because we know that our wonderful land has a lot to offer to those who choose to visit it.

Surroundings and excursions:
You can call it Tuscia or Viterbese, Alto Lazio or Etruria: names that all refer to the same land, one of the most intact, fascinating, and lesser-known corners of our Italy, just 70 km from Rome. The hills, sometimes gentle and sometimes steep, run up to and beyond Lake Bolsena (the largest volcanic lake in Italy) and Lake Vico, to climb the mountains, into the green heart of the woods, and then descend among the gentle hills of the Maremma to reach the silvery sea of Tarquinia and Montalto.
Until recently, its fame was almost exclusively linked to its thermal waters (Bullicame and Terme dei Papi) or the magnificent Renaissance villas of Bagnaia, Caprarola, and Bomarzo; but in reality, each of the municipalities and perched villages offers the beauties of an ancient civilization and a rich environmental and cultural heritage.
Viterbo, a wonderful gem of the Middle Ages and an ancient City of the Popes, gathers in its alleys and then opens up in the splendor of its squares, among churches, fountains, noble palaces, and still preserves the traces of a flourishing past. A journey, in this mysterious land, that offers endless opportunities for excursions in a rich, vast, and heterogeneous environment.
Activities and Events:
THERMAL BATHS
The thermal waters of Viterbo are of volcanic origin, they flow at very high temperatures and have numerous therapeutic properties known since Roman times. A special opportunity to relax and enjoy free and open thermal areas or establishments such as the Terme dei Papi or the Terme Salus.
NATURAL RESERVE OF LAKE VICO
An untouched corner, a paradise for birds and lake fish, with landscapes of silent and fascinating beauty, with its fairytale forests of oak, beech, chestnut, with intoxicating colors in all seasons of the year; an ideal place for horseback riding excursions as well.
BOTANICAL GARDEN
Opened in 1991, the botanical garden of Tuscia is located west of Viterbo on the Bulicame hill. It houses plant collections arranged according to taxonomic and phytogeographic criteria, as well as environmental reconstructions.
You can walk among palm trees, on the paths of the Mediterranean scrub, along ponds, pass through the deciduous forest, the arboretum, and discover the desert.
SAN PELLEGRINO IN FIORE
Between the end of April and the beginning of May, the suggestive medieval quarter, entirely built of gray peperino stones, is transformed into a rainbow of colors and, invaded by the intoxicating scents of spring, offers visitors a truly surreal spectacle.
WINE FESTIVALS and LOCAL PRODUCTS FESTIVALS, from spring to autumn in every town in the province, there are food and wine itineraries, guided tastings, events, culture, and shows.
SETTEMBRE VITERBESE
In September, Viterbo comes alive with events and celebrations... On September 3rd, the climax of the festival in honor of its Holy Patron, Viterbo is exalted by the "Macchina di Santa Rosa"; a bell tower about 30 meters high, carried on the shoulders of 100 men; on this occasion, year after year for centuries, passions, emotions, and enthusiasm are released for a particularly suggestive and engaging event, both for spectators and protagonists, an expression of the cultural roots of the people of Viterbo.
CHESTNUT FESTIVALS
Autumn between typical products and ancient traditions in Soriano nel Cimino, Vallerano, Canepina, Latera, Caprarola, San Martino.

The property is set in peaceful natural surroundings, making it ideal for those seeking relaxation away from city life. Breakfasts are highly praised for their abundance and the quality of local products, including options for specific needs like gluten intolerance. The location is convenient for visiting Viterbo, local hot springs, and the Tuscia region, though having a car is recommended. Some guests note the access road is a bit narrow, but overall feedback is very positive and focused on comfort and tranquility.
