Museum of the Indios Mission Capuchin Friars of Umbria in the Amazon
MUMA close to the Monastery of the Immacolata Concezione of the Capuchin Friars Minor of Umbria, just a short distance from the Upper Basilica of St. Francis. It is MISSIONARY, historic, scientific, ethnographic and anthropologic museum, and it allows visitors to “explore” the Amazon and the Brazilian region of the Alto Solimòes, at the border with Peru and Colombia. MUMA, in addition to traditional exhibition spaces, is a latest high-tech concentration museum, infact visitors will follow both a cultural and sensorial experience at the same time. Rather than a visit, it will be a JOURNEY into the Amazon, that allow to explore the flora and fauna of the largest forest in the world, but lived at 10.000 km away. MUMA as well as raise awareness of the indigenous civilization, holds the largest collection of stuffed animals in Europe.
