_MAAK - Acronym for MUSEO all’APERTO d’ARTE CONTEMPORANEA or Open Museum of Contemporary Art KALENARTE is in Casacalenda Molise. The works from this unique museum are displayed along the communal territory. It is in 1990 when the architect Massimo Palumbo launched the project "Kalenarte". It is a project of "urban furnishing" proposing a new regard of anonymous and neglected places, revealing the relationship between Art and Architecture.?The region returns to relate new stories, liberating the poetic force, inherent to the place. Contemporary Art is, at the same time, an instrument and a window on the world and the artists involved are the intermediaries.?Born in 1992 the Open Air Museum of Casacalenda, harbours many permanent installations in the communal territory. The museum is arranged within streets, open areas, forests and squares.?The exhibition spaces are varied and extend along the region of Casacalenda.?Today there are 20 works displayed. For some years the Museum claims the birth of the Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art Libertucci Franco, whose collection consists of 54 works, mostly painted on canvas, sculptures and installations.
