Il 19 agosto 1860 in questa casa alloggiò Garibaldi. Il generale fu fatto segno da parte delle navi nemiche di un bombardamento che distrusse parte della casa. Dopo il restauro una delle palle di cannone venne lasciata in evidenza sulla facciata della casa.
