Wonderful stay, clean and very well-kept facility, courteous and helpful manager.

Wonderful structure in the ancient and traffic-free part of Barrea. The host is a very kind and helpful person. The room is spacious and very clean with a spectacular view of the lake. We will definitely come back.

This Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful and very romantic place. It is located in the beautiful historic center of Barrea and offers a fantastic view, both from the rooms, and from the garden, which is a little paradise with green lawn, colorful flowers, and pergola, and with a beautiful view of the lake and the rooftops of the ancient village. The service is excellent and the owner is very kind and helpful. In the morning you can smell the freshly baked croissants. The breakfast is rich and varied. The king-size bed is very comfortable and our room was large with a splendid view. We will definitely come back.

Very good location, with lake view. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Excellent breakfast. The only drawback: mandatory return by midnight.

The structure is beautiful and clean. The bed and pillows are comfortable. The view of Lake Barrea is spectacular. Mrs. Florinda is welcoming and very helpful, and you can perceive the love and professionalism with which she does her job. If I were to return to Barrea, I would certainly go back to La Scarpetta di Venere.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the structure is very welcoming and characteristic.

We stayed only one night, but we immediately felt at home. The structure is warm and welcoming, the smell of homemade pastries is intoxicating. Not to mention the wonderful view of the lake. Truly evocative. The lady is very kind and the breakfast was fantastic. In short, much more than a Bed and Breakfast! We will be back soon.

Everything was wonderful and view was superb. The only improvement was advice about parking. There really wasn't any nearby and we we struggled to find anywhere at all. However, the view made the longish walk worthwhile, but don't expect to find a space down near the post.. at least not in August. Would still go again though.

On Friday afternoon, after a great lunch near the Stiffe Caves, my wife and I took the car and headed to Barrea, where we had previously booked a room at the Bed & Breakfast "La Scarpetta di Venere". Upon our arrival in Barrea, we parked near the historic center, which during these periods, in the blue stripe parking areas, is free of charge. Later, with the help of the navigator, we made our way to the entrance of the Bed & Breakfast located in the central part of the historic center. I will talk about the beauty of the historic center in a separate review; for now, I will focus on the B&B. Upon arrival, in addition to the welcome given by the owner, we found the classic scent of homemade lemon cake prepared with love. That would be the dessert we would later eat in the early morning the next day. The owner, a nice and courteous lady, personally prepares the pastries that accompany the customers during breakfast in the morning, but I will talk about that later. After providing documents and personal information, we were shown the room, in our case a room on the second floor overlooking Lake Barrea. A fantastic view that monopolized our photography sessions at various moments, not only in the evening but also in the days to come, giving us the opportunity to immortalize not only the lake but also the beauty of the historic center of Barrea. The room, neat and pleasant in appearance, is equipped with a TV, a bathroom with a shower inside, and Wi-Fi, which we did not request. For us, staying in a place like this is synonymous with rest and escape from everyday life, so the connection, in a similar situation, is something to forget except for the navigator and little else. After a good night's sleep, in the morning, as per the B&B program, we were offered a breakfast that I have found in few other B&Bs. In addition to the usual jams, rusks, fruit juices, and things that anyone could offer by buying them at a supermarket or grocery store, the owner provided us with pastries such as tarts, strudels, Abruzzo puffs, muffins, sponge cakes, etc., all prepared by her, a paradise for the senses. She herself then prepared cappuccinos for the B&B guests. A Bed & Breakfast that is, as stated at the entrance, a small hotel. An excellent experience that if we were to find ourselves in that area again, we would gladly repeat. The rules imposed by the lady herself were: 1st) No smoking to avoid bad odors and damage to the rooms. As for us, there was no problem as we do not smoke. 2nd) Return by midnight since there is no night porter. 3rd) Avoid loud noises or disturbances. I believe these are reasonable requests and can be observed without any problems in exchange for a stay in a high-quality B&B.

Pleasantly impressed by this establishment to the point of giving it the highest rating. I highly recommend trying it.

Small room and time restriction for evening return.

First of all, an incredible discovery is the village of Barrea, an authentic, lively village of rare beauty. You can enjoy the green mountain of the Park and the proximity of a swimmable lake. And then there's La Scarpetta di Venere, nestled like a little gem on the rock in the center of the village right above the lake. The owner is very attentive to every detail: the beautiful garden, the deliciously cooked dishes, the well-equipped room with everything tastefully placed in the right spot with a lake view window. The Abruzzo National Park and La Scarpetta di Venere made my mini vacation truly special.

We stayed at the property for two nights and were extremely satisfied. A special mention to the BnB owner who with her kindness and availability makes the place extremely familiar and pleasant. Delicious breakfast with homemade sweets. Magnificent view of the lake from the room windows and the welcoming garden of the property, very good location to explore the area, excellent room cleanliness. I'm not used to writing reviews but this time it was worth highlighting what deserves it! If we happen to be in the area again, we will definitely come back here.

The property enjoys a great location on Lake Barrea, some rooms have a small balcony and a panoramic view of the most beautiful views of Barrea. I highly recommend the B&B La Scarpetta di Venere. The advice is to arrive with the car as close as possible to the B&B and unload the luggage.

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast that surprises you with a spectacular view. Our room was very clean and the stay peaceful. The breakfast was abundant and the hostess friendly and reserved. An unforgettable experience even if only for one night. I recommend it to people who want to stay in ancient places, amidst staircases and trattorias, but with spectacular views.

The location is very beautiful, in the heart of the historic center with a view of the lake also from the room as well as from the small garden. Everything is very well-kept and the manager is very kind and willing to meet any requests.

A very nice B&B! We had a very pleasant and comfortable night here. The beds were really good. The whole accommodation is very clean and located in a very quiet area in the old town center of Barrea. The only downside is that you cannot drive directly to it with the car. Luggage needs to be carried for about 100 m and a few steps. But in return, you are rewarded with a beautiful location with a great view over the lake. We highly recommend this accommodation and will gladly return.

Structure that I feel like recommending for kindness, cleanliness, and characteristic location.\n\nOnly small flaws, the relative inconvenience of reaching it (proportional to the beauty of the place) and the TV in the room (small and with poor reception).\n\nClearly, these are insignificant defects compared to the beauty of the village, the cleanliness of the rooms, the courtesy of the owner, and the pleasantness of the stay, overall.\n\nGuaranteed.

Exceptional view and special homemade breakfast pastries made by the owner the night before!

The B&B is located in a charming place, nestled in a rock in the center of Barrea. The small garden, very well-kept, has a beautiful view of the lake below. The structure is very characteristic, we were welcomed excellently and treated even better. In the evening, we could smell the scents of the breakfast for the next morning: in fact, most of the products offered are prepared in the B&B's kitchen. The tart was delicious, the freshly baked braids were very good. Truly remarkable breakfast. We will definitely come back. Just one small consideration: the room assigned to us was rather small and we had trouble moving in the shower. But we realize that, booking last minute, we were lucky to find a place. Thanks again for the kindness and warmth of the owner.

In the time of the Olympics, gold medal to 'La Scarpetta di Venere' and its owner, Mrs. Florinda, who runs this Bed & Breakfast impeccably. The structure is located in a charming ancient village and has its own meticulously cared for flower garden; the rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable, quiet, with breathtaking views of the lake; Florinda personally prepares delicious cakes with an exceptional aroma. My family and I have stayed multiple times and will certainly return.

The ideal place to experience the dimension of "slow time", away from the frantic rhythms of routine, yet capable of giving genuine feelings of connection with the environment, people, animals, and things.
