Located in the small hamlet of Pradaccio, 5 minutes by car from the village of Frontone, “Ai piedi del Catria B&B Pradaccio” is an old residence whose walls have stood since the 16th century, the period when the first pastoral settlements in this area date back to.
Until the final years of the last century, life in this house followed the rhythms of nature and its close bond with animals, the primary source of livelihood.
Until 70 years ago, in fact, this house was still used as a storage room in one room on the upper floor, as a stable for the breeding of oxen, cows and sheep on the lower floor, and as a dwelling for two family units in the remaining rooms.
Fully restored to its current form in 2022, “Ai piedi del Catria B&B Pradaccio” has preserved the authentic character of the historic residence, enhancing original elements such as the rustic exposed wooden beam ceilings present in all rooms.
The property offers its guests three spacious separate bedrooms with private bathrooms, private parking, a collection of books in each room, a large kitchen where breakfasts are served and where guests can relax with a herbal tea or a coffee, perhaps while watching the fireplace lit throughout the winter season, a ground-floor room dedicated to yoga and meditation practice, and a small private garden at the front with mountain views.
Matteo and his wife Suzana will be delighted to welcome you into their home, where you can share with them the harmony of this place and its close connection with the surrounding nature.

Although my family is not originally from Frontone, I have spent a great deal of time in this area since I was a child. In fact, my parents were married 50 years ago at the Eremo di Fonte Avellana, 6 km from here, and later purchased an old hay barn in this area. Restoring the barn together with my father created in me a strong sense of belonging to these places, and from then on I visited Frontone more and more frequently, until I purchased this house in 2020 and restored it with passion.
I have been deeply passionate about music since I was a child, and I cultivate this passion by studying several musical instruments.
Since 2022, I have been living in this house with my wife Suzana, and I truly enjoy sharing it with passing guests, striving to offer them the best possible stay in this valley full of nature.

The property is located 3 km from the village of Frontone (5 minutes by car), on the only road connecting Frontone to the ski lifts leading to Monte Acuto and Monte Catria, which are just 1. 5 km away (3 minutes by car).
One of the two roads that lead to the Eremo di Fonte Avellana also starts right in front of the property (6 km – 10 minutes by car).
A river flows along the road, and its pleasant sound can also be heard from our garden, especially during the winter period, when the flow of clear water coming down from the mountains is stronger.
The surroundings feature stone houses, abundant greenery, mountains, trails, fresh and clean air, and lush nature.

A paradise of the senses wrapped in nature with a timeless atmosphere. Warm and welcoming environment, km 0 breakfast with homemade pastries and the very sweet welcome from Matteo, Suzana and the little cat. Ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city.

Great base for exploring the Catria area. The B&B is surrounded by greenery, quiet and well-kept. The owners are friendly and the breakfast is homemade. We had a great stay!
