Description

Welcome to “Colli Bolognesi”.

Our B&B is located within the natural rural park “Prati di Mugnano” on the famous Bolognese “ Cinque Colli “ road. The country house which hosts the B&B dates back to the end of the Nineteenth Century. It is modelled on an ancient farmhouse structure based on two storeys and restrained on the sides by two imposing masonry counter forts typical of the architecture in this region.

Prati di Mugnano B&B offers you the opportunity to stay in either of 2 independent units, which have recently been refurbished to reflect the traditional Bolognese charm and give visitors a truly authentic Bolognese holiday experience. Both units have broadband and TV, en-suite facilities and boast gorgeous views of the Emilia Romagna countryside. For tourists travelling through the rolling hills of this region our B&B is in the perfect place to stop and take a break. It is situated between Florence and all of the most famous artistic and historical cities in Emilia Romagna. Florence is only 50 minutes away by car whereas Ferrara and Ravenna only 40 minutes.

Furthermore Prati di Mugnano boasts an incredible historic landscape. Not only is it an important site for wildlife and conservation, containing fine examples of natural countryside that has survived for hundreds of years but the site has retained many ancient geological features including prehistoric mounds and a Roman road. This unique footpath is called “Via degli Dei” (the Route of the Gods) and, through the Mugello, links Bologna, Italy’s gastronomic capital and Florence, one of the world’s greatest art cities. A network of Heritage Trails, ancient drovers’ roads and mule tracks that lead through beech woods and along broad, grassy ridges between rugged peaks named after Gods___(mons Veneris, mons Junonis, etc…) helps people to discover more about this magnificent and inspirational pilgrimage.

Our B&B is an ideal place for those wishing to visit Bologna for work or pleasure. It is located only 20 minutes away from the city centre and only 5 minutes from the highway (Autostrada A1- first exit “Sasso Marconi” on the Bologna/Florence route). Those arriving in the city to participate in exhibitions, congresses or professional meetings are welcome to stay and not only relax or go for a walk in an outstanding backdrop of flowers but also refresh with good food and wine.

It is 20 minutes away from the historic center of Bologna and 3 minutes from the "Sasso Marconi" exit of the A1 Bologna - Florence highway.

We were a couple walking the via Degli dei. We arrived at this bnb on the first day of the via Degli dei. We liked that it was on the route. The room is clean with a private kitchen, sink and bathroom. There is air conditioning. The owners were very distant and uninvolved. Maybe because of the language barrier. The accommodation is overpriced for what it is.

We made our first stop here on the Way of the Gods. Wonderful welcome. The triple room was a mini apartment, warm and quiet with its own entrance. Loredana and Luciano are very kind and attentive to the details to make their guests feel good. Spectacular breakfast, sweet and savory with everything one could desire. Excellent location to stop during the Via degli Dei, located right on the path, surrounded by greenery and away from inhabited centers. Mr. Luciano and his wife welcomed us with a cold beer and entertained us with tales and stories about the path. Also excellent the option to order dinner (pizza or other) delivered quickly and consumed in the garden in the company of other walking guests of the facility. Abundant breakfast prepared by the lady.

The B&B Prati di Mugnano is truly a place of relaxation. Hidden in the green hills near Sasso Marconi. Luciano and his wife make you feel at home. They are fun and do everything to make you feel comfortable. Every morning a delicious regional breakfast was served on the roof.
