Description
Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and orchards, La Terra is located in the rolling hills of the Val di Chiana, on the border between Tuscany and Umbria.
The old farmhouse and a large landscaped garden is an oasis of calm in which to spend a holiday that can be different every day, thanks to the many opportunities that our location offers.
You can choose between a walk in the woods or a trip to the nearby cities of art (Siena, Arezzo, Florence and Perugia) or between Etruscan and Renaissance (Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza). You can relax in the nearby hot springs of Bagno Vignoni and Chianciano or water sports on Lake Trasimeno.
And when you return home, there is always a good glass of wine waiting for you, to enjoy the pool while admiring a spectacular sunset.
We welcome you in a typical Tuscan farmhouse in red brick in which we live. The structure, in its earliest form, was already present in the land Leopoldino the 700. Restored at different times has kept the original features with exposed beams and brick, and has been our care to furnish every room in the tradition and with a bit of originality.
The farm is composed of two apartments and a large bedroom all independent and a small "restaurant". All this is handled with ease, expertise and passion by Ilaria and Pierpaolo.
All around the house and the annexe there is a large garden of about an acre equipped for various activities available to guests: 2 swimming pools including one for children, games for adults and children how to swing, basketball hoop, rings and a climbing rope, a gazebo with table tennis, darts and table football, and also the home garden.

The "restaurant" is a newly renovated independent structure which houses the kitchen and a covered loggia surrounded by the garden; a bright and welcoming dining room where you can eat while enjoying the splendid panorama that sweeps from the nearby Castello di Valiano, up to Montepulciano and Monte Amiata and the background of suggestive sunsets in summer as in winter.
In summer we offer dinner outdoors on a large panoramic terrace.
It is Pierpaolo who cooks for you: cooking has always been a great passion of him that he has cultivated over the years and which has now become his specialization.
We offer simple and genuine recipes, linked to Tuscan family cooking with some forays into Sardinian cuisine (Pierpaolo is from Cagliari). We prepare homemade bread, breakfast cakes and fresh pasta (tagliatelle, pici, ravioli and tortellini...).
With us, dinner is, as usual, a convivial moment to share with our guests: we offer a fixed menu of 6/7 which also includes wine and spirits.
Everything we offer is seasonal and locally produced, at zero km and controlled supply chain, we often know the producers personally, moreover as much as possible we use the products of our organic farm: flours, cereals, vegetables, fruit, oil, jams and saffron.
We also organize cooking classes and / or small events and ceremonies, providing complete organization or hosting external catering, even without the obligation to stay overnight.
And always for those who want to experience the return to the flavors of the past, in the wood oven we prepare the pizza once a week.

Ilaria and Pierpaolo, along with their dogs Maya and Zac, welcome you to La Terra farmhouse. Our story is about a family that has chosen to leave the city and live in close contact with nature, following its rhythms and sharing the positive aspects of this choice with friends and guests of the farmhouse.
Until now, our entire lives had been spent in the city: different cities, some by the sea and others crowded with skyscrapers, compelled to change due to the demands of the company where Pierpaolo worked for over 15 years.
This time, the drive for change came from within us. We didn't want to change the place we lived in as we had always done, but rather our way of understanding life.
Our dream became a reality with the creation of La Terra Farm and Agriturismo in 2013, a name that encapsulates the essence of our choice: to live in harmony with nature through respect and work on the land and its products, and to create a place of tranquility and harmony for ourselves and our guests to enjoy their time.

We made a short stop at this stunning agriturismo but we will definitely return as soon as possible. A very intimate and well-kept location, with a breathtaking view of the vineyards and a strategic position to reach cities like Siena, Perugia, Assisi, Spello or Lake Trasimeno. The kindness and friendliness of Ilaria and Pierpaolo combined with the goodness of their zero-kilometer products and the dishes they offer (it is possible to have dinner with a fixed menu that is proposed daily) make everything perfect and create an atmosphere that is hard to forget! Highly recommended.

This agriturismo is charming and in such a lovely quiet tranquil wine region. Surrounded by vineyards, and with stunning views, this small farm was a gem. We made some lovely friends with the other guests. The meals are made from their own produce and were good. We really enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed only one day but it was enough to want to return to Agriturismo La Terra for a longer period. Ilaria and Pierpaolo welcomed us with warmth and spontaneity, as if we had known each other for a long time, and we particularly appreciated the convivial moment spent in their dining area with attached kitchen, enjoying the dinner prepared by Pierpaolo finished with an excellent Vin Santo and cantuccini. This agriturismo is immersed in the characteristic beauty of the Tuscan countryside, it is detailed in the internal environments, simple but characterized by the elegance of the furnishings just like at Casa Carla, one of the independent structures where guests stay and where we stayed. We will certainly return, and for longer, both to visit the surrounding area, from Lake Trasimeno, to Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza and... and to meet Ilaria and Pierpaolo again!

For lovers of 'REAL' agriturismi, I believe it is an unmissable destination and an absolute reference: strategic position on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, enchanting environment with breathtaking views of the stunning Tuscan hills and its Sangiovese vineyards, simple apartments in an originally rustic style with impeccable cleanliness and facilities, discreet, attentive, friendly and helpful managers, excellent cuisine based on local products, unbeatable price/quality ratio. In summary: highly recommended!

Everyone should wake up at least once in their life in a place like this, with a spectacular view of Montepulciano and the countryside, with the crowing of the rooster and the chirping of the birds, with the beautiful and familiar smile of those who have turned their profession into a passion and a life mission. Siamo stati benissimo, Ilaria e Pierpaolo ti fanno sentire a casa, cene ottime e abbondanti, un posto bellissimo per i bimbi, hanno persino organizzato la pizza e l'hanno fatta con i bambini, il mio si è divertito tantissimo. Si raggiungono facilmente tante città toscane di una bellezza indescrivibile.

Abbiamo trascorso un bellissimo weekend in questa struttura.
Ilaria e Gianpaolo ci hanno accolto come amici prima che come ospiti!
Abbiamo soggiornato a Casa Maria in un grande appartamento dotato di tutto, pulito e caldo, immerso nel silenzio, circondato dalle colline toscane!
Abbiamo approfittato della possibilità di cenare in compagnia degli altri ospiti e di Ilaria e Gianpaolo mangiando piatti della tradizione toscana ottimamente cucinati e gustati in ottima compagnia.

Abbiamo soggiornato in un appartamento per 4 persone con 2 camere da letto con ciascuna il bagno in camera.
L'apt molto carino e pulito e dotato davvero di tutto il necessario per una piacevole vacanza.
Fuori c'era un tavolo con sedie e ombrellone per potersi rilassare e godere dei profumi della natura, oltretutto era attaccato alla piscina (2 a dire il vero: una grande e una piccolina adatta ai bimbi).
Abbiamo gustato anche un'ottima colazione, servita sotto un portico, ricca di prodotti fatti in casa come pane, marmellate, biscotti e ciambella ancora calda.
I proprietari sono due persone davvero cordiali e disponibilissimi.
Suggerisco a tutti di soggiornare in questo magnifico agriturismo.

Bel posto circondato da girasoli e vitigni, dove si respira il profumo della terra per ricordarci quali sono le nostre origini.
I gestori: Ilaria sempre sorridente, un sorriso che io mi sono portata a casa assieme al bellissimo panorama.
Pierpaolo l'uomo della terra, mi piace ricordarlo così, per la sua passione a seminare cose nuove come il basilico alla liquirizia e cucinare i prodotti della sua terra.
L'amico Carlo ottimo intrattenitore e persona speciale.
Non posso dire che stare da loro è come stare a casa, perché da loro si sta meglio.
Consiglio un soggiorno all'Agriturismo La Terra, perché non sarà solo una vacanza, ma vi resterà un pezzo di terra toscana nel cuore.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo agriturismo su consiglio di un'amica dei proprietari e devo dire che tutte le cose belle che ci aveva raccontato si sono rivelate assolutamente vere.
Il posto è bellissimo con un panorama spettacolare, come del resto tutta la Toscana. Il valore aggiunto è la simpatia e la cortesia dei proprietari, la loro disponibilità ad aiutarti anche nelle cose da vedere nei dintorni.
Colazione genuina fatta in casa da Ilaria, cena preparata da Pierpaolo (ottimo tacchino cotto nel forno a legna). Se proprio devo trovare qualcosa di negativo posso solo dire che non abbiamo potuto mangiare nella Porcilaia che non era ancora stata terminata. peccato perché da lì il panorama è stupendo. Sarà per la prossima volta che ci andremo, perché sono certa che ci torneremo. Consigliatissimo.
