Nestled in an ancient peasant village, in the countryside just outside Palinuro, there is the Bed and Breakfast "Il Vecchio Gelso", a dwelling with a rather bucolic air.
Due to its characteristics, our structure is a solution recommended especially for nature lovers.
We are located just 450 m. from the Arco Naturale beach, which can be reached on foot, following the path that passes right in front of the house.
Those who come to us, do so because they are looking for experiential tourism. In fact, the guest will be able to "taste" a simple holiday but rich in cultural values; the numerous inland villages to visit are all located a handful of kilometers away. During these "mini trips", you will have the opportunity to taste many recipes of the past such as maracucciata, menaica anchovies, ciauredda, you can taste the different qualities of local wines, visit the caves of Capo Palinuro or ancient villages such as Roccagloriosa, Pisciotta, Camerota, the ghost town of San Severino; it will be possible to quickly reach Marina di Camerota, Sapri, Padula and Paestum. You will be able to listen to tales of bandits and local stories from times gone by.
For sports lovers, we recommend horseback excursions at the riding school not far from the B&B, or Quad excursions along dirt tracks that will take you to discover places and landscapes of rare beauty such as Mount Bulgheria or the Ciolandrea plateau.
Here, nature plays host: the olive trees, the oaks, the prickly pears and the Mediterranean scrub, centuries-old witnesses to a history of nature and tradition.
The structure consists of two residential units, which were obtained from the old farmhouse that belonged to my ancestors.
On the ground floor there is a double room with en suite bathroom and a tiny kitchenette; it has a private outdoor space, in the shade of a pergola of strawberry grapes.
On the first floor there is the other living unit, this one composed of a kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms: the first is a double bed, the other has two single beds, which can become another double bed if necessary.
Upon their arrival, guests will receive the "house keys", and will be free to organize their holiday, without time limits and in complete independence.
The structure is equipped with private parking, a bowling green and a grill area.
The B&B opens to guests in conjunction with Easter week and closes at the end of September.
