In an enchanted corner of Valnerina, on the outskirts of the picturesque medieval village of Ferentillo, stands majestically among a lush centuries-old olive grove, the 14th-century watchtower with its medieval court called Santa Croce.
You will be left breathless when looking out of the windows of its 6 cozy apartments: the landscape presents itself in its most absolute beauty. An indescribable peace, enlivened by the chirping of the various birds that live in the Nera River Park, and intense scents and colors of the lush nature that surrounds the court, will give you the sensation of living in a true earthly paradise.
The stunning pool with a Roman staircase, located on a large naturalistic terrace, faces the gardens of the apartments and is perfectly integrated with the surrounding nature.
The farmhouse has six apartments, three located on the ground floor with equipped gardens for outdoor dining and three located on the upper floor with independent entrance. All apartments are equipped with a fully equipped kitchenette, bathroom with shower box, and living room with double sofa bed. Free Wi-Fi in the pool area. Equipped barbecue area shaded by walnut and olive trees.
In August the minimum stay is 1 week from Saturday to Saturday.
A few kilometers away, also reachable by naturalistic paths along the Nera River, is the Marmore Waterfall, only 9 km away.

The Santa Croce Apartments are inside a farmhouse that has been owned by our family since last century. Before the renovation ordered by our father in 2005, the farmhouse was the centre of family and agricultural life for our farmer, who lived here and cultivated the olive trees, raised cows, pigs, chickens and rabbits, cultivated the vegetable garden and baked bread in the wood-fired oven.
Life in the countryside was characterised by solidarity and sharing, with family and neighbours helping one another with farm work, and my father overseeing and supervising all the work in the fields.
Over the years, the farmhouse was vacated by the farmer’s family, and Santa Croce was first at risk of being abandoned and then of certain ruin, whilst the olive grove continued to be lovingly cultivated and cared for.
So in 2005 my father decided to give new life to this place, too beautiful to let it crumble and be swallowed up by wild nature. A skilful renovation led to the current conformation with seven flats, all with independent entrances, one of which I occupy. The others we decided to rent out to those who need a break and want to immerse themselves in nature, discover the beauty of Umbria and live an authentic experience of relaxation and tranquillity.

The flats enjoy a spacious and verdant view over the valley at the bottom of which flows the lively river Nera, which descends from the Sibillini mountains towards Terni, giving its name to the Valnerina (valley of the river Nera).
Surrounded by a large family olive grove, the Santa Croce flats are the perfect place for those seeking to relax and disconnect from everyday life.
The spectacular Marmore waterfall is only 9 km from the flats and can also be reached on foot along the Nera Greenway!
