The “Pruno Selvatico” farm lies above the old historic road linking Parma and La Spezia that climbs up from Varese Ligure (5 km away) to the Cento Croci pass, in the lovely, quiet and unspoilt valley of the River Vara (Val di Vara), with its lush green fields and deciduous woods. The farm has extraordinary views across the valley and to the Ligurian mountains. It takes 35 minutes to reach the sea at Sestri Levante or the beautiful Cinque Terre. Guests are made to feel immediately at home and are offered wholesome yet sophisticated country cooking. You can laze around in the garden or walk through the hills and woods. Mrs Cappellini Bordone can teach you how to make typical Ligurian dishes, and her husband will show guests how he runs the small farm.
The main activities of the farm are raising sheep and poultry, the orchard, and the herb and vegetable garden. Mr and Mrs Bordone own a terraced vineyard at the Cinque Terre so, apart from producing grapes with a nutty flavour, they have their own production of the world famous white table wine of the Cinque Terre and the exceptional Sciacchetrà. They can take you on a walking tour along the high paths (the Alta Via) of the Cinque Terre and through the terraced vineyards with their traditional dry stone walls and breathtaking views of the World Heritage site.
If you are interested in staying at the Cinque Terre, Mr and Mrs Bordone rent lovely and comfortable apartments and rooms in Manarola with beautiful views overlooking the sea.
