Description

BB Cancabaia Parma is part of what used to be a court for nobility dating back to the 17th century, situated in the foothills, 15 minutes from Parma but immersed in total rurality. Guests can enjoy a warm but discreet family atmosphere in a quiet and relaxing environment in the middle of the countryside.

Staying at BB Cancabaia is ideal for the tourist, for business people, for families with children and for animal-lovers who prefer to travel with their pets.

Guests can visit the family farm area and discover how the famous Parmesan Cheese is produced. Bedrooms: within the original court structure, we have recently built four bedrooms, each with a name: Acacia, Ciliegia, Lavanda and Margherita.

The bedrooms are in a part of the farmhouse, reserved especially for guests, with a private entrance and with complete freedom to come and go as is desired.

Furnishings are simple and comfortable designed to make guests feel at home.

Breakfast, served on the restaured old stable is varied and plentiful with natural, home made products such as jam, cakes, fresh bread, honey, milk, barley beverage, seasonal fruits, salami produced in the area, Parmesan Cheese and Ham of Parma.

Cancabaia is open to everyone travelling with their pets. Cats and dogs are accepted on condition notification is given when making the reservation.

Guests can relax and talk on the large terrace and enjoy the overall quietness of the location. There are plenty of interesting walks both in the nearby woods or in the surrounding countryside. There is a large parking area inside the courtyard.

Area hills

The area surrounding BB Cancabaia Parma is very interesting. Guests can visit castles such as Torrecchiara, Felino, Sala Baganza and Montechiarugolo.
For keen walkers and hikers, our B & B is an excellent stop-off point for those wishing to visit the “Parco dei Cento Laghi, ” situated in the Emilia-Tuscan Appenines.
Two minutes away from Cancabaia B & B, art-lovers can visit the Fondazione Magnani Rocca with its many works of art as well as the beautiful surrounding park. At only a short distance is the beautiful town and dukedom of Parma, with its splendid cathedral and baptistery as well as churches and interesting architecture. Parma offers wonderful shopping facilities and has a weekly open air market. Because the origin and production of many typical and high quality food products are concentrated in the area, the European Commission in Brussels, chose Parma as the headquarters for the EC Food Authority.
A very beatiful swimming pool is a two minutes from our house, and it’s possible playing golf in Sala Baganza, riding and walking on the hills

The structure is very beautiful and characteristic, in a quiet area. The owners are very kind, welcoming, and ready to meet any requests. The rooms are furnished in style and the beds very comfortable. I also appreciated the absence of the TV in the room, not to disturb the tranquility and relaxation. The breakfast is excellent, with typical sweets made with locally sourced flour, also paying attention to any intolerances. We will definitely come back with more time to better explore the area, such as the beautiful castle of Torrechiara, where scenes from the movie "Ladyhawke" were filmed.

Upon arrival we were enthusiastically welcomed by their lovely dogs Mira and Kira. We really enjoyed our stay at the B&B Cancabaia Parma. Nice and calm. We had a nice room with private bathroom. The contact between Bruno and Simona went very well right from the booking. Once we arrived at our destination, they received us in a very friendly and hospitable manner and we immediately felt at home. They are really good hosts. Although we did not use their breakfast, we have heard from others that their breakfast must be fantastic. We can recommend a stay with them to everyone.

If your desire is to rest surrounded by fabulous views, tranquility, and have breakfast with the best homemade sweets, Parmesan cheese, ham (jamon) etc. in Lesignano de' Bagni you have to come here, highly recommended, it is also worth mentioning the excellent attention of the hosts Simona and Bruno! Another detail: we were able to bring our pet who enjoyed the garden.

A truly wonderful experience on the gentle slopes of the first hills south of Parma (about 20 minutes by car). The property is part of a historic farmhouse, still a working farm, a short distance from the Magnani-Rocca Foundation and the Torricella Castle. Bruno and Simona are exceptional hosts in terms of kindness and availability. The room met our expectations and the breakfast was truly superb, with homemade cakes and jams and a wide range of options (both sweet and savory). We will come back!

Bruno and Simona are two really nice people, they made us feel really good, besides explaining to us well the traditional vinegar production. The structure is very beautiful, also suitable for large groups of people. Special mention for breakfast, one of the best we have tried, with cakes made expressly for us, tastings of Parmesan cheese, balsamic vinegar (aged 37 years!) and everything desirable. Really well done! We will return.

Bruno and Simona welcomed us magnificently. I had asked for a cot for my baby and they provided it excellently and at no extra cost. The structure is very beautiful and immersed in greenery, you can breathe pure air. The location is great for visiting the villages nearby where you can taste ham and Parmesan cheese. One point deserving a perfect score is the breakfast which, besides being abundant, was of high quality. The products were mostly artisanal and Mrs. Simona prepared delicious cakes. We will definitely come back!

On Sunday, the isolated location disadvantages customers due to the almost absence of public transport in the morning. However, this is not the fault of the owners, who were very kind in taking me to Parma. \n\nThere is a lot of tranquility, which was exactly what I was looking for.

The managers are fantastic, they make you feel immediately like a family friend. Very kind and hospitable, they chat, give advice on where to eat, what to see. The environment is furnished in a rustic way, to maintain the style of the farmhouse, very tidy and clean, with exposed wooden beams. Excellent breakfast with a wide selection, homemade cakes and jams. Then they prepare what you prefer. Excellent tranquility enjoyed from the wicker terrace.

Even though we only stayed for one night, we had a great time. Large and clean rooms, the manager is very kind and helpful. Abundant and delicious breakfast, all prepared by the wife. We recommend it to take a break from the usual routine.

Stayed based on recommendation from family. Enjoyable two days there, very comfortable room and exceptional hospitality. Bruno and Simona were fantastic hosts and we felt very welcome. Bruno was the Tour Guide for the Parmigiano factory (excellent) and also organized the prosciutto tour for us. Take their recommendations for local places to eat as they know best! We highly recommend this place, nothing is too much trouble for them, they enriched our stay near Parma.

We stayed for two nights on our way back from Marche and felt at home. Available, friendly, professional managers. Two dogs that have captured the heart of my child... cuddly and playful! Cancabaia is a simple, nice, very clean and relaxing place and Simona and Bruno pamper you. Superlative breakfast, all organic! Their balsamic vinegar, delicious, is produced by them! Bruno gave us many great tips on visiting Torrechiara Castle and where to buy delicious Parmesan cheese and wine! If you want to feel at home even on holiday, immersed in the countryside and relaxation, this place is perfect.

Cancabaia is in a really beautiful location, close to the first hills of the Apennines, among cultivated fields and in the center of a region rich in cultural and gastronomic attractions. The TV is missing but considering the tranquility and silence of the rooms, it would only be a disturbance. Sometimes you need to disconnect and then there are smartphones. Tipica cascina di campagna, dove le ultime propaggini collinari lasciano il posto alla pianura; sembra fatta apposta per ospitare, trasmette quiete nonostante non sia sperduta sul picco dell'aquila, trasmette familiarità e senso di casa, con le feste dei cani in corte, e ovviamente con la discreta affabilità di Bruno e Simona: le loro colazioni, le chiacchierate sul territorio e sulle cose da fare in giro, il cucchiaio di aceto balsamico per iniziare la giornata. Degli amici, anche se non li hai mai visti prima; camere confortevoli, non grandi, ma il prezzo è più che onesto; un posto dove non puoi che star bene, e ad averci il tempo, quel terrazzo verandato coi divanetti è più di una tentazione.

Purtroppo col Covid Parma e dintorni non hanno potuto esprimere tutto il massimo della capitale della cultura italiana ma crediamo fermamente che il nostro Territorio, l Emilia, abbia tanto da scoprire. Struttura bellissima immersa nel verde, l'ideale per chi vuole rilassarsi nella pace della campagna pur essendo vicino ad una grande città, e soprattutto per chi come noi viaggia con il cane. Siamo stati tutti e tre benissimo! La gentilezza, la disponibilità, la cortesia di Simona e Bruno è ineguagliabile. Camera spaziosa (il nostro cagnone è stato bello comodo), ambienti pulitissimi, letto comodo, condizionatore che ci ha salvato la vita durante queste giornate di caldo torrido, per non parlare delle graditissime bottiglie d'acqua fresca che ci hanno fatto trovare nel frigo della camera. La colazione poi spettacolare e veramente abbondante. Torte dai sapori autentici, genuini, fatte tutte da Simona, con la farina proveniente direttamente dai loro campi. Bruno ci ha offerto una selezione di formaggi e salumi tipici a km0, indimenticabili. Un aiuto prezioso sono state le indicazioni sui luoghi da visitare, sulle strade da percorrere, sui posti in cui gustare la cucina tradizionale. Grazie Simona e Bruno, speriamo di poter tornare presto a trovarvi.

Ho soggiornato al B&B Cancabaia a Lesignano de Bagni di Parma per 3 giorni. Ottimo B&B immerso nelle campagne Parmensi, dove c'è silenzio e si dorme benissimo, la camera ben curata e pulita. Al mattino ottima colazione servita dal proprietario Bruno che si prodiga a dare consigli sui luoghi da visitare e locali/ristoranti per la cena. Ragazzi, consigli ottimi perché il Castello di Torrechiara e il suo borgo a pochi Km dal B&B è da vedere e poi si può degustare un aperitivo o un'ottima cena alla "Taverna del Castello" con panorama fiabesco. Bellissima Parma con i suoi monumenti e parchi, poi qui c'è da sbizzarrirsi in base al tempo che un viaggiatore ha a sua disposizione. Infine, ottima serata al PUB "La vecchia volpe" di Lesignano de Bagni, frequentato da bella gente, buona musica e si mangia molto bene. Che dire? Parma è bellissima ma la scelta di aver passato 3 giorni da queste parti è stata azzeccatissima. Da ritornare! Saluti, Tatiana.

Il soggiorno da Bruno e Simona anche se breve, è stato estremamente piacevole ed illuminante. La stanza era molto accogliente, grande e comodissima anche per il nostro grande cane. Simona, sapendo che fossi vegana, mi ha preparato delle buonissime ed indimenticabili torte. Abbiamo trascorso una giornata bellissima, grazie anche ai loro preziosi consigli relativi a ristoranti, itinerari, che ci portiamo nel cuore. Da andarci e riandarci!

A wonderful experience, the breakfast was really amazing. I enjoyed the recommendations of Bruno. I never stayed at such a quiet place - during the night you can hear your heart beating and see stars you've never seen before.

We really had a super stay at Bruno and Simona’s House and spent a delightful moment on Christmas Day, enjoying local products for dinner. The breakfast is definitely stunning. But Bruno and Simona are even more! We’d definitely come back:).

We spent two wonderful nights at this B&B. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The owners Bruno and Simona were fantastic hosts. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. Simona made home made pastries and would also cook eggs or omelettes. They also served local Parmigiano cheese, prosciutto and breads garnished with local Balsamic vinegar. Bruno was helpful in every way giving us directions and suggesting fabulous local restaurants. This was a wonderful experience and would highly recommend staying here. Thank you Bruno and Simona.

We enjoyed the Parma countryside so much, thanks to the owners of this quaint B&B and farm, Bruno and Simona. We had been traveling around Italy and were tired of tourist hotels. This was a true look into Italian hospitality and it was lovely. Don't miss the Parmesan cheese and prosciutto tours of the highest quality foods from the area, delicious black pig ham, etc, Bruno took us himself, what a treat. We also experienced delicious homemade Italian food at a trattoria where we were one of three couples to dine there for the evening. So delicious and special. We experienced the Waldorf Astoria in Rome and traveled Florence, but this was special and unique. Thank you Bruno and Simona!:).

On September 10, 2016 we stayed at B&B Cancabaia. This was our second visit. The hosts are charming and attentive, Bruno and Simona are so very helpful with info about the Parma area. The property is beautiful, the rooms are clean and very comfortable. Many toiletry products are available. The breakfast is a delight! So many choices: meats, cheeses, fruits, baked goods, yogurt, breads, oatmeal, granola, coffee, tea, etc, the list goes on. We hope to return soon.

We recently spent two nights at this excellent B&B. Bruno and Simone were the friendliest hosts that we met on our long trip! Lovely homely atmosphere. Bruno gave us coffee and home made biscuits on arrival and later took us on a tour of a local Parmesan factory this was fascinating. He recommended nice local restaurants. They both spoke very good English. The breakfasts were sublime. Home made cakes, home made yoghurt, ricotta, preserves. Lovely free range eggs, boiled and scrambled (with Parmesan cheese). The cherries were so ripe. They were the best fruit of out trip. Can't recommend this B&B enough!

Bruno and Simone were outstanding hosts. Upon arrival I told Bruno were not able to find a place for lunch and he immediately made a call and insisted we follow him in our car as the place was hard to find. The ristorante was about to close for the afternoon and Bruno arraigned for us to eat and even interpreted the menu. The ristorante was outstanding. Simone and Bruno were always available to answer question, offer suggestions and give directions. This was a super agriturismo experience!

B&B Cancabaia est un vrai bonheur! En premier lieu, je dois complimenter les propriétaires Bruno et Simona qui sont d'une sympathie rare, très serviables et à l'écoute du client (lors de notre parcours italien, un B&B s'est désisté et nous étions bien ennuyé: Bruno et Simona ont tout fait pour nous trouver un B&B pour notre prochaine étape, et je les en remercie mille fois). Cancabaia est une belle demeure restaurée avec goût, et où rien ne manque: que ce soit dans la chambre spacieuse ou la belle salle de bains, nous nous y sentons comme à la maison! Quant au petit déjeuner, il est exquis: charcuterie et fromage du terroir, pain et gâteaux fait maison et délicieux, croissants, confitures, fruits, et j'en oublie… Un vrai régal de roi. Un conseil: si vous cherchez un B&B dans la région, vous avez là un petit bonheur qui vous attend. N'y passez pas à côté.

Posto meraviglioso e un'accoglienza stupenda. Bruno e Simona sono dei perfetti padroni di casa, cordiali cortesi simpatici disponibili e gioviali. Stare con loro è come sentirsi a casa. My teenage son and I stayed with Bruno and Simone this summer. We were very interested in learning about local food production and cooking. Not only were Bruno and Simone very hospitable, but they were also able to arrange a local cooking lesson with a friend of theirs as well as tours of local food production facilities (Parmesan cheese, Parma ham and balsamic vinegar). We spent five nights in the region and it was the highlight of our trip. Many thanks to both Bruno and Simone an we hope to visit again!
