Declared by the Innkeeper

The Baita Tana da l’Ors invites you to experience an atmosphere of genuine rustic simplicity. This cozy establishment, situated entirely on one level, features a bright living area with a fully equipped kitchen, complete with dishes, gas stovetops, refrigerator, microwave, kettle, and toaster. The dining area, furnished with a table, chairs, and a comfortable sofa, is perfect for enjoying moments together. A traditional brick wood stove provides heating throughout the house, which, thanks to its wooden interior, creates a warm and comfortable environment ideal for relaxation. Firewood for heating is easily accessible outside the cabin. Guests will also find a bathroom with a shower, equipped with an electric water heater, and two tastefully decorated bedrooms: one with a double bed and another with bunk beds.

Nestled in three hectares of land, surrounded by meadows and woods, the cabin offers breathtaking views of the Val d’Arzino and Val Tagliamento, framed by the majestic peaks of Monte Cuar and Monte Flagjel. This location was chosen by singer Elisa Toffoli for the video of her famous song "A modo Tuo," and you can find her autograph on the door of one of the rooms. Guests have access to a barbecue and outdoor furniture for enjoying meals al fresco, immersed in the beauty of nature. Located just 600-700 meters from the center of the Monte Prat plateau, in the Cjondorar di sotto area of Forgaria nel Friuli (UD), the cabin is easily reachable.

This pristine environment, free from pollution, is situated at an altitude accessible to all ages, making it an ideal area for low-impact outdoor activities such as trekking and cycling. A well-marked and mapped network of CAI trails begins from the Monte Prat plateau, leading towards Monte Cuar and Monte Flagjel along the ridges of the Central Friulian Prealps, in a landscape that stretches from alpine peaks to the Adriatic Sea. You can book a paid environmental hiking guide or explore the ancient transhumance paths leading to the town of Forgaria nel Friuli, enjoying the views over the Tagliamento River, which is perfect for walks of varying lengths and difficulties.

The proximity to the regional natural reserve of Lake Cornino, the Quadris Oasis in Fagagna, and the Pakar Ponds provides opportunities for bird-watching, nature photography, and fishing. Lake dei Tre Comuni (or Cavazzo) is ideal for sailing enthusiasts, while the emerald pools of the Arzino stream and the pristine beaches of the Tagliamento River, unique in Europe for their natural features, are must-sees.

Additionally, you can easily visit art cities like Spilimbergo, the world capital of mosaic, Maniago, known for its cutlery, and the medieval towns of Gemona and Venzone, famous for San Daniele ham from Friuli. Don’t forget to explore Cividale, a Lombard city, Palmanova with its star-shaped layout, and Aquileia, the historic seat of the Patriarchate and the cradle of Christian roots in Friuli. The mountains of Tarvisiano and Carnia offer further exploration opportunities.

For your lunches and dinners, you'll find a variety of restaurants and agritourisms in the area, where authentic dishes, rich in flavor and simple in ingredients, will delight even the most discerning palates.
