Where we are:
Jiminy Cricket's Nest is located in Diegaro, on the edge of the Via Emilia north of Cesena and a few kilometers from the Hippodrome.
For a walk in the center of Cesena, park the car, go up slowly along the wide Via Cesare Battisti. The structure of Cesena is pleasantly striking. In particular, the arcades, under which charming little shops and sophisticated shops are hidden, outside the usual sales circuits with well-known brands. However, they are not lacking to complete the proposal. After a look at the shop windows, we reach the beautiful historic center of Cesena, where splendid stately palaces welcome us. An architectural sequence placed along elegant avenues. As a counterpoint there are alleys, lounge squares, small collected corners, religious buildings. All controlled by sight from the imposing Malatesta Fortress which, for centuries, has stood out over the town.
The spearhead of the city of Cesena is the historic Malatesta Library. First civic library built in Italy, in the 15th century, it was declared a "World Heritage Site" by Unesco. An excellent example of a perfectly preserved medieval library, both in terms of furnishings and book heritage.
In the surroundings of Cesena, you cannot miss a visit to the “Balcony of Romagna”. Bertinoro is a pastel-colored village, overlooking the Adriatic coast squeezed between expanses of vines. It is no coincidence that Bertinoro is a land of Sangiovese, Albana and Pagadebit. An ancient tradition, which Bertinoro proposes with a rich calendar of events, such as "Wines and Street Flavors", "Albana Dei" and "I Pomeriggi del Bicchiere".
