It was built in the 17th century by the Caracciolo family (specifically the branch holding the title of Princes of Forino), who owned the land at this location near the Aragonese walls; the street name "Foria" is derived from their title. The building features well-preserved frescoes and coats of arms from the era, and is consequently protected by the Superintendency for Cultural Heritage.
