We were not admitted at the B&B - the host said us: "I did not confirm your stay, so you have no reservation and you cannot stay here". We had been driving for 10 hours and were very disappointed. She phoned a college, B&B Marlene and we went there. That B&B was 101 Euro in stead of 70, nearly 1, 5 time the price of Vilaverde, she made a big fuss over the dog (that sleeps in a bench) but we were tired and eventually were admitted.
B&B Marlene is not a success. The room has little space, no bed-tables to put your book or a glass, only 1 chair to sit in, no soap in the bathroom. The breakfast was an absolutely 'minimal-french' one: per person 1 cup of coffee, 2 peaces of bread, 1 sheet of cheese and a mini-jam. No egg, no yoghurt, no fruit.
On top of all: at breakfast we met a Swiss woman who had exactly the same experience we had, but the other way round: she had booked B&B-Marlene and when she arrived, there was 'no reservation, but perhaps a college B&B can have you. So first 2 days she had been in Villaverde - for a substantial higher price than she had booked at Marlenes, where she could come after 2 days.
What the two B&B-ladies arrange together? We thought: it is not kosher. You should investigate it to prevent future disappointment for people who had a long day-driving.
