Ho prenotato questa struttura solo per una notte, la nostra ultima notte a Roma, dopo essere tornati da un viaggio fuori città. Il posto aveva recensioni molto alte su TripAdvisor (come il 98% a 5 stelle) ed sembrava decente nelle foto. Ma io e mia moglie siamo stati complessivamente molto delusi dalla nostra esperienza qui, nonostante l'alto livello di pulizia e l'host, Stefano, sembrasse una persona piacevole e fosse sollecito e desideroso di accontentare. I nostri principali problemi erano con (1) la posizione, che si è rivelata essere in un noioso quartiere residenziale lontano dalle attrazioni e senza molto da fare, (2) la struttura stessa, che, sebbene bella all'esterno (è in un edificio in stile art deco con un lobby interessante), è divisa e poco invitante per trascorrervi del tempo, e (3) la colazione, che era triste - composta da varie cose indesiderabili: biscotti confezionati, "toast" confezionati, fette tristi di carota e peperone, una ciotola di frutta acerba, fiocchi di mais e una torta vecchia (a parte i fiocchi di mais e il "toast", le uniche cose che costituivano cibi veri da colazione erano il caffè, fatto dalla macchina e piuttosto mediocre, e lo yogurt confezionato, che non era nulla di speciale). Solo dopo essere arrivati e aver dato un'occhiata a alcuni materiali promozionali, ci siamo resi conto che questo posto sembra rivolgersi a clienti ebrei (la colazione, ad esempio, sebbene triste, era almeno kosher). Non essendo ebrei, io e mia moglie non abbiamo quindi beneficiato di ciò che potrebbe esistere unicamente per i clienti ebrei - quindi è qualcosa da tenere a mente. (Non sono sicuro di quanto sia difficile trovare pasti kosher a Roma e forse questo è un servizio che attrae davvero certi clienti). Sembra anche che ci siano sinagoghe nel quartiere, che potrebbero interessare unicamente gli ebrei, ma non necessariamente i gentili alla ricerca di un posto carino con ristoranti e negozi interessanti nelle vicinanze.

First thank you for the words of appreciation for the beauty of the neighborhood and of our own art-deco building, the cleanliness of the place, the largeness of the room and the responsiveness of the staff in assisting you. It is a lot and I am truly thankful for this all. Your review raises important arguments and I am glad to begiven the opportunity to clarify that:
- The neighborhood: The area has much to offer in terms of “action” as well as attractions and shops. And not only to Jewish guests. Having spent one Sunday morning in the neighborhood, I believe you could spare us some harsh judgement and yes, Italian night owls may not be around early on a cold winter Sunday!
- Location: We are always ready and glad to provide information about the city, the area, how to best navigate the transportation system and much more. However we may be imposing when a guest on a tight schedule declines help. I am really sorry to hear it took so long to reach Trastevere. On a separate note, let me please equally specify to those that are not familiar with the city, that Trastevere is NOT downtown.
Property: A professional furniture conservator in my previous life, I am fully on board when it comes to preservation. At My Guest Roma I have maintained the building’s original 1930’s plasters, the wooden doors, parquet and Venetian marble ….but I have combined it with modern furniture and art. I am sorry to read that the result did not match your taste.
Single sheets: Beds are arranged with single sheets in an effort to provide flexibility where a reservation request for a double bed or 2twin beds is left blank.
Breakfast: We are well aware that the Italian style continental breakfast is not satisfying to many foreigners. We devote much effort to accommodate multiple breakfasts habits and cultural expectations while complying with the strict Italian regulation. To name one, we make use of a professional coffee bar machine and serve real juice as opposed to cheap fruit powders. But no, we cannot produce Yogurt on the premises.
Finally, we do indeed cater to Jewish guests …AND students AND faculty of the nearby University, AND Hospital patients, AND couples from all over the world AND businessmen AND gluten intolerants ..
