Besonders interessante Struktur auch für die Geschichte der Räumlichkeiten, aus denen sie erhalten wurde. Essentielle, bequeme, gemütliche und ordentliche Zimmer. Der Besitzer ist eine entzückende Person und eine reiche Informationsquelle für diejenigen, die in Kalabrien bleiben wollen. Das Dorf Scigliano ist sehr schön.

Wir haben unsere Erfahrung hier absolut geliebt! Der Blick vom Balkon ist absolut atemberaubend und unser Gastgeber Raffaele kennenzulernen war definitiv ein Highlight unserer Reise. Unsere Buchung wurde versehentlich doppelt gebucht, aber Raffaele bot uns seinen persönlichen Raum an, was großartig für uns war, denn wir lieben Kunst und da er Maler ist, ist der ganze Raum reichlich mit seinen Kunstwerken gefüllt. Der Balkon bietet genügend Platz für Yoga oder Sport. Sie boten Frühstück und Kaffee an, es gibt auch ein Café und ein Restaurant in der Nähe. Sehr zu empfehlen. Der Ort ist sehr schön und hat eine wundervolle entspannte Atmosphäre.

In diesem Teil Kalabriens ist Raffaele nicht nur der Manager seines spartanischen, aber raffinierten B&B Calabria, sondern auch der Gastgeber, der Freund, der histrionische Verbreiter versteckter Ecken seines kostbaren Landes. Dank seiner Anweisungen haben wir ein Kalabrien entdeckt, das Berge, Seen, Meer, Essen, Gastfreundschaft ist. Mein Urlaub fand in Scigliano, auf einem Hügel (zwischen Stille, Landschaft und wunderbaren und gastfreundlichen Menschen) in geringer Entfernung von Badeorten und von der Sila mit ihren fantastischen Wäldern und Seen, eine vollkommene Übereinstimmung. Eine Erfahrung, die definitiv wiederholt werden muss!

Buchung am Nachmittag um 15 Uhr, um gegen 21 Uhr anzukommen. Sehr freundlicher Besitzer, der uns zu einem symbolischen Preis mit Anmut beherbergt hat. Die Struktur befindet sich im Landesinneren, die Entfernung von Amantea, mit dem Auto, beträgt etwa 1h.

We were fortunate enough to have a reason to visit the village of Scigliano in the province of Calabria Italy. My husbands mother’s family live there and we were on a mission to explore roots. Scigliano is truly a hidden gem. Google maps could find the town but not the address of any of the inhabitants within the town. If you are looking for a beautiful truly unspoiled Italian village nestled in the hills this is the place. The village is situated between Sila National Park and the sea. Both are less than a thirty minute drive away. The remains of a 2000 year old Roman bridge can be found near the bottom of the hillside. The B&B where we stayed affords expansive views of the area and now a canvas photo of the 800 year old cloister hangs on my living room wall. The top of an impressive Baroque church can also be seen from the B&B and is worth the walk up the narrow village lanes. No less than four churches are scattered among the groupings of homes that make up Scigliano. A couple of typical Italian markets service the village and the pizzeria in the main square is very popular with the locals. Alas we didn’t have the opportunity to eat there as we were served up wonderful fare by my husband’s extended family. We traveled from Canada. It had been 50 years since my husband had last visited and we did not want to impose too much on his family so we booked the only accommodation in town, B&B Calabria. Our accommodations were lovely. We stayed in what used to be an old bakery. Raffaele the owner has renovated it into a couple of comfortable rooms with bathrooms with modern amenities. We especially enjoyed the ancient stone wall and high ceilings in our room. While most of the villagers do not speak English we were delighted to find out that we didn’t need to use Google translate with Raffaele. As he made up some wonderful coffee and served up Calabrese bread with fruit spread or tomatoes and cheese he told us points of interest we may want to check out. His warmth made us immediately feel at home. Biking and motorcyclist enthusiasts looking to explore open roads would love this area.

Appena arrivati, siamo stati accolti da un'atmosfera familiare, ci siamo sentiti veramente a casa e non ospiti. La disponibilità di Raffaele va ben oltre di quella di un gestore del B&B, è una persona eccezionale e disponibilissima, lasciatevi viziare per la colazione ed affidatevi a lui per ricevere consigli preziosi. La camera spaziosa, pulita, confortevole ed attrezzata. Colazione splendida. Abbiamo apprezzato tutte le piccole cose che veramente fanno la differenza durante un soggiorno. Grazie ancora di tutto.
