Our stay at this charming B&B, located just behind the Duomo of Catania, was nothing short of unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the warmest and most cheerful host, Mrs. Pepa, whose hospitality made us feel like family. Each morning, she not only served us an abundant breakfast on the terrace overlooking the majestic Etna but also spent time chatting with us, sharing local stories, and giving us fantastic recommendations for hidden food spots we would have never discovered without her guidance. Her genuine care and company were precious highlights of our stay. Our room (Sant'Agata) had the most stunning view of the pristine blue Mediterranean sea, a sight that stole our hearts and left us with precious memories. The daily cleaning service was impeccable, and it was such a treat to return each day to a spotless room with fresh towels and bed linens. We were also fortunate to meet Mr. Orazio, the kind proprietor who checked in on us with a friendly "Buongiorno" every morning. His kindness was unparalleled, especially when he graciously covered the cash for our tourist tax as we only had credit cards on hand—a gesture we will never forget. The location of this B&B is unbeatable. The Alibus stop is just a few steps away, making transportation to and from the airport an absolute breeze. The terrace was a true gem, decorated with delightful sea elements like a traditional ship steering wheel and Sicilian touches, perfectly blending the maritime spirit with the local culture. Did we mention that it's very Instagram-worthy? We will definitely be returning to this place to relive this wonderful experience again.

I stayed in this bed and breakfast for four days in September with a friend and we could not have chosen better! The structure is in the center of Catania, in a strategic position, with the possibility of using a parking space in an underground garage. The room turned out to be spacious and equipped with all the comforts. Unforgettable was the breakfast on the terrace with a view of the entire city from above! Both the owner and Mrs. Peppa turned out to be two nice and kind people, always ready to give us advice.

Pleasant B&B, well decorated in the Sicilian style, central and close to all the places to visit. I recommend asking for a room that does not overlook the church square: beautiful and spacious room but quite noisy early in the morning. The owner willingly gave us a very quiet room on the other side. Terrace facing Mount Etna, nice for having a very hearty breakfast: coffee/tea, soft-boiled eggs, ham, cheese, butter and jam toasts, yogurt, small croissants, fruits. Free Wi-Fi. Cleaning done every day. 15 minutes from the airport: coming from there, take Alibus and stop at the first stop.

Fabulous little B&B. We really enjoyed our 3 nights here. Spotlessly clean, spacious room and nice terrace. Very quiet and convenient for everything. Great breakfast and really lovely host. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Catania.

A wonderful place in the heart of Catania, a fascinating city often bypassed - but it shouldn't be. It's worth spending a week - at least - instead of the two days I was there. Rich history, wonderful food, lively atmosphere and in the case of the tastefully done, perfectly old-fashioned San Placido Inn, a lovely, funny, helpful lady (Valentina - I hope I got your name right!) in charge. The rooftop breakfast patio is especially nice, with the Duomo next door and Etna in the background, and an added bonus is the lift to the 4th floor - no trudging up and down endless stairs, with heavy bags and a bum knee.

We had a great time. Excellent hospitality. We highly recommend booking the B&B San Placido Inn.

Wonderful host of a beautiful B&B in the heart of Catania. The location is wonderful, everything is within walking distance and plenty of eateries around. The B&B is uniquely and beautifully decorated. Rooms were spacious and clean. Beautiful views from the terrace and a generous breakfast. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to my next stay.

We had a very relaxed stay at B&B San Placido Inn. The room we rented was quite spacious and very clean. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast, even the gluten free version was amazing. Thank you for your hospitality!

The B&B is on the 4th floor, so we had a spacious veranda. The view from there was great. The room has enough space and the bathroom is good. Lady Pepper is so helpful and the breakfast was more than enough. I think the B&B is one of the best in Catania. Accidentally, we had some noise of songs and shouts at midnight. We would like to come back if we had a chance.

I felt like I was at home thanks to Peppa, very friendly and welcoming. She recommended many places to visit, a smart woman.

Good position, very central, welcoming; full breakfast, we would have preferred more typical Sicilian sweets.

Mrs. Peppa is very nice and makes you feel at home; close to the airport and the center of Catania. The B&B San Placido Inn is a nice and clean structure. Parking is easy; breakfast is served on the terrace with a splendid view. We recommend it 200%. Lucia and Davide from France.

San Placido is super centrally located and yet quiet. The rooms are nice and functional. The common areas are decorated with great attention to detail; you feel like you're in the living room. The rooftop terrace with a view of the Cathedral and the Harbor is superb.\n\nSince they also understand the practical needs of travelers here (e.g. having a private bathroom for guests who have already checked out but want to freshen up later), I simply felt comfortable there. Compliments to Pepa, who runs the place with heart and skill.\n\nConclusion: absolutely recommended!

Great welcome by Veronica and her husband at their B&B in the heart of Catania's historic center. Good value for money. A successful one-week stay. Thanks to Pepa for her availability and flexibility.

It's the third time I come back and every time I am amazed by the beauty of the place. The terraces offer a 360-degree view of the city and are very close to the cathedral, you can see the sea and Mount Etna. A unique spectacle.

Domes, bell towers, and tympanums of the Baroque churches and on the terrace among many magnificences, rare plants among which two pomelo trees, a beautiful Sicilian sun, and the exceptional Peppa who takes care of the breakfast. Very delicious jams, perfectly toasted slices of bread, freshly squeezed orange juice. I don't want to go back, I would have liked to stay. Mrs. Peppa, who takes care of the B&B management, is always attentive to all the guests' needs, providing valuable advice on what to visit, where to eat, and how to best experience the city. A lively city, cheerful, full of initiatives. In the city, you eat excellent fish, very fresh at competitive prices. Very central, great location. The owner is kind and friendly.

My wife and I chose this property for the feast of Santa Agata, and I must say it was a happy choice. The building is a historic palace in the center of Catania, with all the advantages and disadvantages of such buildings. The location is exceptional, about 200 meters from the Cathedral. The room has a terrace with a sea view. In common with other guests, there is a very nice winter garden where breakfast is served and a terrace overlooking the dome of the Cathedral, from where we admired the fireworks in honor of the Saint, accompanied by an aperitif kindly offered by our host. We had a great time, I definitely recommend it.

I felt very good at Seniora Antoinetta's. A very charming, small, quiet room in the heart of the old town. Something for romantics who - like me - appreciate nostalgic charm in the heart of the old town.
