Via Dandolo, 51
Our elegant, quiet and unique Bed and Breakfast, is situated on the hill of the Gianicolo, along a beautiful tree-lined road, that from the 'terraces of Romè of the Gianicolo and of the Fontanone comes down towards Trastevere, the most authentic district of Rome.

The historic centre is at your feet. Crossing the Tevere you are at the Pantheon, with Piazza Navona and Campo dè Fiori; on to the Campidoglio, to the Foro Romano, to the Coliseum, to Fontana di Trevi and then Trinità dei Monti, to the most famous roads for shopping; coming down from the other side of the hill of the Gianicolo, you are at San Pietro.

All attainable destinations on foot, for those who love to walk and enjoy Rome in the best way, or with the bus that stops close to home.

Our apartment is in Via Dandolo, that from Trastevere climbs winding on the Gianicolo. It is on the attic floor and the penthouse level (second and third floor, without elevator) of a 20th century building that was recently restored.

It is an apartment that we restored with love and with respect, preserving where possible floors, stuccos and age fixtures; and then enriching it with our passion for the fifties, sixties, and seventies, playing with black and white, with pieces of furniture, objects, vintage and family pictures.

It is a large apartment, with two magnificent terraces facing Rome (the highest, "torrino" the sunniest one, has two comfortable coaches to take the sun), that sees fully the roman seasons: from the burning summer, like an oasis of green in the middle of the city and with full views of the city; to the solar winter with the bare plane trees and an even better light in which to admire Rome and beyond, until the Roman Castles.

We reserve our hosts a whole part of the apartment: the attico composed of three large double rooms (LOREN, MAGNANI; VITTI), each with a closet and private bathroom (LOREN with bathroom en-suite); To Magnani and Vitti rooms can be added a bed. In Vitti room is already present a double sofa/bed.

The rooms MAGNANI and VITTI (that has also a balcony beyond a window) appear on Via Dandolo and enjoy a beautiful view of Rome. The room LOREN opens its two windows on Villa Sciarra (one of the most evocative public parks of Rome) and on the gardens surrounding.

Our rooms are spacious and well lit, with highs ceiling with stuccos, and are furnished with taste, our taste, always inspired by the fifties, sixties and seventies, and by the cinema and music of the Italy of those years. For this we have dedicated them, also with photographs and books, to three icons of the Italian cinema of that period: Sophia Loren, Anna Magnani, Monica Vitti.

Each room has an independent air conditioning system.

There is central heating for the area reserved for Bed'n Breakfast.

The three baths have a comfortable shower, and one of them offers to our hosts the opportunity of a great bathtub for idromassaggio.

Our breakfast is delightfully unique. On the large penthouse terrace, when the season permits it… and in Rome this is often the case; or in the living room of the penthouse, with sight of the terrace and the surrounding gardens, we offer a rich continental breakfast, sweetened with cakes and home-made cookies. The breakfast is prepared and/or served from 8. 00 a. m. so you don’t have to get up too early if you don’t wish. Furthermore, there is no time limit for eating breakfast.

The BOOM bed'n breakfast is in an optimal position, in the Town centre (historic centre). It's not a case we have chosen to live here permanently! We are in a residential zone, calm, dipped in greenery, and we dominate Rome (Via Dandolo is considered from the estate agencies one of the most prestigious roads of the town); but at the same time the most important areas of Rome, its historic centre with the most ancient and characteristic districts (first of all Trastevere, in which we find ourselves) are only a few steps away.

This is also true o the many areas of artistic and cultural interest (museums, art galleries, archaeological zones), or places of entertainment (bars, restaurants, pizzerie, pubs, night clubs, shopping), sport and nature (a historic public Park, Villa Sciarra, near our house); the Gianicolo and the greatest and majestic public park of Rome, Villa Doria Pamphili, 200 metres away.

Who already has come to stay here was enthusiastic. We suggest you to visit our web site: www. ilboom. it, but we expecially suggest you to come to us!
