Via Guardiola, 28 - CASTIGLIONE DI SICILIA (CT)
In Castiglione di Sicilia, in the Etna Park, on the slopes of the volcano itself, the agriturismo takes its name from the popular nickname for this place, and spreads over 100 hectares inside a chestnut and pine wood, just 20 km from the beautiful Taormina.

The agriturismo was born from the renovation of the main house and adjoining buildings, and offers characteristic guest rooms and a breakfast room built inside the old “palmento”, or wine cellar, all surrounded by thriving nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The 16 guest rooms feature wooden furniture and private bathrooms with hairdryers, fridges, safes and TVs. Cots and extra beds are available if required.

The old wine cellar, which today houses the reception and communal lounge, has been skilfully renovated with a particular focus on preserving the original spaces and tools (the press, the vats, etc.). Here guests can enjoy delicious homemade sweet and savoury breakfasts, with Mamma Gisa’s popular apple tart and “ciambella” cake.

Other activities and facilities include checkers, ping pong and the swimming pool.

The surrounding area is a stunning place to explore on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback. In summer the agriturismo offers tours of the "Cyclopean Isles" Protected Marine Area in Acitrezza, during which guests can experience the beautiful scenery described in Giovanni Verga’s novel, “I Malavoglia” (translated into English as “The House by the Medlar-Tree”) and admire the “Faraglioni”, or rock spurs, emerging from the sea, and Lachea Island. Those who enjoy diving can take part in underwater excursions with ETNADIVE, the agriturismo’s trusted diving centre.

The estate overlooks the Peloritani Mountains and the Nebrodi Park, just a short distance from the Alcantara River Park. Just a few minutes away yoùll find Randazzo, Castiglione di Sicilia, the sea at Taormina (20 km), and the Riposto marina (30 km). For fans of winter sports, the Piano Provenzano ski resorts are just 15 km away.
