Contrada Castelle, S.n. - CUTROFIANO (LE)
Tenuta Castelle is a 16th-century residence nestled in the heart of the Salento countryside, where you can catch a glimpse of the sun and the various colours of Mediterranean nature from dawn until nightfall. Located about 20 km from Gallipoli, Otranto and Lecce, it represents a typical corner of the Salento that deserves to be visited by all those who demand quality and courtesy. Amidst the barrel and star vaults, centuries-old olive and pine trees, the orchard and the ancient little church, you can feel the sensations of times gone by for lovers of true relaxation. The abundant and varied breakfast will be enriched with typical Salento products.

History
Tenuta Castelle, which once boasted an entirely different consistency, has belonged for more than five centuries to the same family that now runs the B&B.

The residence, an important example of rural construction, is divided into a ground floor, the oldest one, dating back to the second half of the 16th century, once used for agricultural purposes such as stables, farmhouses, warehouses, etc., and
a first floor, dating back to 1833, used as a manor house for summer holidays.

The Restoration
The restoration was skilfully supervised by architect Antonio Ferilli, whose guiding motif was the careful preservation of the original construction details, combining them, with that skilful mastery belonging to only a select few, with the objects and furnishings that were part of the house, where everything is meticulously authentic, where every typical defect has been enhanced to become a value, all with the precise intention of restoring and reviving those atmospheres, sensations and scents that time seemed to have inexorably erased.
