Before 2017, this building was just an old abandoned "lamione", one of the typical buildings entirely built in tuff stone in Matera. However, today it has been reborn as Casa MATERiA, a unique and special place that offers an extraordinary living and experiential tourism experience focused on art, design, and hospitality. This small accommodation structure has been transformed into a true gallery-house, where guests can not only stay but also immerse themselves in the exhibited artworks and design projects.
