The apartment is in Monteroni d’Arbia, a small town among the ‘Crete senesi’ district, about 12 kilometres from Siena - a medieval, historical city, well-known for ‘The Palio’’-and along the ancient route ‘Via Francigena’. The house is located in a quiet area in the historical town centre. The apartment completely refurbished, gives on a garden where guests can enjoy fresh air and spend quiet, relaxing moments. The apartment is on the ground floor of the palace and has antique furniture and a ceiling with the beams showing. The large kitchen/living room is an open space that gives onto the garden. It has a fully furnished kitchenette with gas stove, electric oven, microwave, a kettle, a beautiful, huge marble sink and the necessary kitchen implements.

In the room there are also a large table and a sofa-bed. Next to the living room there is a bedroom with a double bed, a single bed, a small sofa, a wardrobe, a desk and an original console used as a shelf for a TV-set.

The bathroom has got shower, toilet, washbasin, a mirror, hairdryer.

The garden, large, completely fenced and well kept, decorated with some 19th century vases (giare), has got a gazebo with a table, some chairs and deck-chairs, a wood-fired oven and a barbecue – (the oven and barbecue can be used on request, wood is on sale). There is an area where to hang out the washing and park the car; access is from the house or from the street. n Monteroni d’Arbia there are a mall/shopping centre, a bank, post office, a chemist’s, various boutiques, a large supermarket, a self service laundry, a disco, bars and pubs, a few restaurants, pizza-restaurants, patisseries and ice-cream shops. A street market offers any sort of goods every Tuesday. A bus service links the town with Siena, Florence and other tourist resorts in the Crete district, Grosseto and the nearby beaches.

In or near Monteroni you can go horse-riding, enjoy long relaxing walks along white roads, in amazing, hilly landscapes; mountain bile riding, play golf and swim in the spa towns of Rapolano or Bagno Vignoni.

An adventure park ‘Saltalbero’ is just a 20 minutes drive, an exciting experience for kids and adults.

What to see in the area:
The apartment is the ideal base to visit the best tourist places around Siena: Montalcino, Pienza, The Chianti area, Val d’Orcia, San Gimignano, Montepulciano and some tiny, Etruscan and medieval hamlets such as Murlo and Monteriggioni, as well as the fascinating abbeys if Sant’Antimo and San Galgano, together with the ‘pieve’ of Montesiepi which features the legendary sword in the rock.

Siena is rich in monuments and attractions all year round,, but mostly when The Palio is run (on 2nd of July and 16th August).

Monteroni is along the route of important national sport events: ‘L’Eroica’ (bike ride) and Mille Miglia (car racing tour). Every season offers its attractions in Siena province: ‘sagre’are organized and good, traditional food can be tasted. The best known are: ‘la Sagra del Tordo’ in Montalcino (end of October), ‘sagra del cacio’ in Pienza (first week of September).

Every February the venue ‘Benvenuto Brunello’ is an international event in Montalcino which connects excellent wine promotion and art. The area offers plenty of possibilities to taste excellent local food and wine.

For art-lovers, Florence, Pisa and Arezzo can be easily reached by train or by bus.
