Via San Potito, 21 - MATERA (MT)
“Ponticello a San Potito” is a friendly and charming B&B full of history, located in the high and noble part of the ancient city, the medieval Civita, a few steps away from the beautiful Cathedral, the Musma and Casa Noha.

The property was converted from an old premises for the production of cheese (“caciolaio”), it is the perfect combination of old and new. A mix of historical elements within a space purposely leftas its origin, without interventions that could have altered the structure, that blend with the latest technology available to guests.

The B&B is in an exclusive and dominant position, ideal for visiting the historic centre and the ancient city: the two Rioni Sassi and their eighteenth century crown.

Its location is also convenient to access all the services you might need: Banks, Tourist information centres, Spas, Shops, Restaurants, Pizzerie, Cinema, Hairdressers etc..

The B&B is, together with the property inhabited by your hosts (which is accessed by a little bridge), the extreme wing on Via San Potito of the Conti Gattini’s Palazzo, today a Luxury hotel.

A “little bridge” under which Jesus transited with the cross, amongst a noisy crowd, in the reconstruction by Mel Gibson in “The Passion” (2003).

Here you will experience the magic of the Sassi di Matera, immersed in the history of the city and, surrounded by its many sights, you will share the experience of contemporary Matera as “cultural visitors”, in contact with its cosmopolitan community.

Your hosts will be at your disposal to provide information and addresses for a pleasant stay in Matera.
