Histon Residence is located in the ancient Caldoresco Castle, one of the most representative monuments of the City of Vasto. Situated in the historic center, the Castle was built in 1439 on the remains of a previous fortification; once an imposing witness to warlike enterprises, today it serves as a residential building. It is truly an exceptional location, where one can savor the charm and atmosphere of the past, perfect for those who wish to reach the most interesting points of the city's historic center.

Legend has it that Diomedes, king of Epirus, after the siege of Troy, landed with his people, founding several cities in southern Italy. During his travels, the military leader was struck by the splendid Gulf of the present-day City of Vasto and the promontory that overlooked it, so similar to Mount Histone in Corfu, that it inspired Diomedes to name it Histon.
