Casa Hirta is a small medieval village located on the Tifatini Mountains, 400 m. high and only 10 km away from Caserta. Not much is known about this small village. It formerly belonged to the Longobards and later fell under the Norman rule, and it is in this period that the village lived its cultural, spiritual and artistic reinassance.

Its round tower, 30 m. high, was probably built in 1240 as it is similar to the other towers of the same period spread out along the Volturno river.
